Powerful tool
I thought ClickUp might be a cheaper alternative to Motion. Having now used ClickUp for a year, I realise Motion wasn’t really the solution to my particular need. I don’t need a robot to schedule my next job, (my wife does that!) rather, present some options from which I can choose based on how I feel at the moment. I came for the Gantt chart but stayed for the Getting Things Done.
I haven’t found a use for the AI yet, I have to devote some time to learn how to ask it the right questions.

Not mobile friendly
SSO is broken and it keeps logging me out. Also, the app is like the web…. What’s the point? Might as well just be on chrome.

Je mettrais un 4 1/2 étoiles. La base est assez simple mais certaines fonctionnalités demeurent encore complexe. Par exemple, l’application est supposée fonctionner avec les courriels et pourtant, nous n’arrivons pas à joindre un courriel à une tâche.

We replaced ClickUp with a vibe coded front end over the top of Notion and it works infinitely better for a fraction of the cost.

I feel like if I had sat down and worked with a team of geniuses for a year on the problem statement “how can we make this as awful as possible” we wouldn’t have come close to this monstrosity.
I hate everything about it.
Let’s be honest, JIRA and Confluence could be better but they certainly aren’t this. Whatever this is.
I’ve been forced to use it at my new company (3 weeks in, have already got approval for us to move off it).
A couple of unbelievably annoying things I can’t even begin to get my head around:
- you have made a document. Cool. Now you think “let’s move that document into a nested view with other similar documents”. Easy, I just drag and drop that right? Wrong. You don’t. In fact I have no idea how you do it. ClickUps own AI told me to Ctrl C + CTRL V it into a new space. Seriously. That’s the solution in 2026.
- you want to create an Epic (because, you know, software development) with user stories underneath. The best you can do here is a create this (yourself) then run everything as sub-tasks. Which is frankly awful. But let’s assume you do this (because you have to) you now just move the sub-tasks independently of the Epic, right? Wrong. The only way to do this is to change a weird view setting (which defaults back every time) and then you can move them. But it also duplicates all the sub tasks as tasks now so your board instantly becomes a living nightmare.
I would go on but I won’t as I’ve already spent more time thinking about this software than the people that developed it. Hopefully AI will render this rubbish all superfluous to requirements as honestly it’s wasted hours of my life I’ll never get back trying to do simple stuff.

Uploads slow
Whenever there's an update, I remain hopeful that the upload function will get better. However, I'm still experiencing difficulties, as uploads often don't complete even after 5-10 minutes of trying. I end up having to airdrop my video to my laptop first before uploading it to the task. I really love ClickUp overall, but this app hasn't quite met my expectations yet.

TURNS ONE MAN BAND INTO SYMPHONY!
(IT AIN’T EASY) Ya gotta stay with it til it becomes more intuitive and UI is understood. But you’ll go from intimidated to recognizing how powerful but useable it is. The A.I. (so far) has BLOWN MY MIND! I’m able to do stuff that would’ve taken weeks, and (I’m just getting started at it). But it turns a one man business into one that operates like it’s a 10 man business! I’m thrilled but STILL figuring out as I go….

The best virtual virtual assistant!!!
Since I have started using this app I have been more present with my family, prepared for business tasks, more productive in my school activities. My life is better organized and tasks that used to take me hours are often done in half the time. The best of everything else that I have tried.
How is this 4.6?
It’s not even possible to login! Like seriously how is anyone getting into it? As a new user who signed up via Google, you get stuck in a loop that keeps leading back to the nowhere.
Finally, a useful AI!
Most AI tools give you generic answers, but Clickup Brain actually knows my team, projects, and can suggest what I need to work on next before I even ask. It’s more like a teammate than a search engine.

No place for existing users to login
I really like your product. It works great on my computer and my tablet. However when I download the iOS version, which I have done several times now, it insists on forcing me down the path of creating a new account. There is no place for an existing user to login. Please fix this!
Will update rating — mobile login broken
I enjoy this app on desktop and tablet, but phone doesn’t give me the options to login when I select “other sign-in options”. It brings me back to the “Get Started” button. I should have another login option (ie Google or password) that can get me inside the mobile app. Would love to have this fixed soon, because I’m not able to use the app on my phone due to this bug.

Really laggy, does way too much, tons of freezing and performance problems, a search function so bad that it makes Discord look good. Threads are useless. I don’t know how this company is in business. When I had to use this program for work I was wondering why I had never heard of it and regret knowing I had to find out. 0/10.

Extremely Deceptive Company
clickup is an extremely dishonest company.
their entire pricing structure is one big bait and switch scheme to try to get you to upgrade. they say pricing is transparent but it is anything but.
they give you free forever but then you have to upgrade and then you pay for your entire team to upgrade for unlimited but what you find is unlimited is extremely limited. with every upgrade you cannot select specific team members to receive that upgrade. you have to upgrade for everybody on your team.
additionally they say you get two free members and tell you to send the invites out to your team. upon research i found that this is totally false. the only way that you can invite two free members is if they are only viewers. they don't tell you that. they just automatically add it to your bill without any notice.
then features that you're used to such as the audio/ai transcription for the chat they allow you to use it and then revoke it with no notice.
we are actively looking for an alternate platform to switch to because of these deceptive dishonest bait and switch tactics.
shame on you clickup. i'm also filing reports on you to the app store
for these deceptive practices. look at Reddit, ClickUp, you guys are permanently tarnishing your reputation.
