Top reviews

Slide across top

The app generally is good but the slider across the top has not updated in a very long time. Still shows galaxy ring so a little disappointed all new going down the page is updated regular

App constantly says outdated

Every time app is opened, I get a dialog box that the app is outdated and needs to be refreshed in the App Store. In the App Store it only states Open, that it was updated two months ago. And whatever prompted me to go to CNET is then forgotten when the app opens to the home page and not the desired location.

Review of CNET APP

Was to review the APP which I am completely hooked on it’s my go to source of expertise before buy my electronics also an excellent source for new products

Tease

Email promo showed an article about cyber security for the home. The app shows endless ads and no way to find the story I care about.

Prefernces, why ask?

Asks for your preferences and proceeds to dump a bunch of articles that you didn’t want. Why ask? Deleted.

Inappropriate ads in app

CNET, you need to make sure you are reviewing the ads that are being posted in your app, many are extremely inappropriate adult content. And there is no way to report or block them in your app. Get this addressed asap, or I will report to Apple App Store.

Not Helpful

80% product reviews and endorsements. Not much news or new technical information.

Bummer!

I see a headline that I’m interested in and when I click on it it’s not to be found! Click bait?

Outdated UI, bad privacy policy, and ads

I’d give it a zero if I could. The UI is terrible and outdated, there’s ads everywhere and their privacy policy is terrible, saying that they will track you across other websites and apps to serve ads

CNET is the best

I am so pleased to watch your YouTube and use your app!! You the the one and only!!!

Old CNET is Dead

This has turned into ad central, CNET has sold out to ads and no longer provides the previous level of news they did. They have so many ads that “look” news articles.

Unable to Login

Every time that I attempt to login in the app it gives an error that says “Oops. Something went wrong. Leader try again later.” This has been an issue for months with no resolution. And my login is correct as I can login on the website with the same credentials.

Same banner stories for 2 years

The app has had the same stories in the top banner for 2 years, like they got rid of the person who knew how to update it and nobody can figure it out, haven't noticed yet, or the staff was entirely replaced by AI. Speaking of which, the stories now appear to be almost entirely AI generated. I used to like CNET for my tech news, but it appears to be irrevocably broken now.

Outdated version

Every time I click on an email it opens with “you’re using an outdated version”. So I update to the newest version but I keep getting the same “outdated version” message. I used to enjoy this app but now it is so annoying & I don’t know how to fix the issue

Annoying - bad UX on iPhone

App does not respect user's choices on iPhone. E.g. video previews interrupt active music listening.

I’ve updated already!

Every time I click a link to see a c|net article, I can’t see a thing because it wants me to update. Apple Store says I’m using the latest version. What’s with this!?!?! How do I get past it?

Out of touch

CNET is so out of touch with 85 percent of Americans when they list top gifts for men and women for special occasions it’s absurd. The vast majority of American adults have little or zero interest in types of gifts CNET list, and CNET has lost touch with day to reviews of the real things we look for on a daily basis. It has become a 100 percent ad site for paid advertising.
