A very bad investment
Very disappointing products! You have absolutely no control. They've simply found a way to take control of your wallet. And what about the paint on the switches that's peeling off? A very bad investment to begin with a few years ago :(
Needs to be a SOLID NETWORK
After using Control4 and Savant regularly, Control4 is the better platform—5 stars.
It’s more reliable, more flexible, and scales way better across different systems. The interface is clean, easy to use, and gives integrators the control needed to dial things in properly.
Big key: you need a solid network. When the network is built right, Control4 runs rock solid.
Compared to Savant, you’re not boxed in—more freedom, easier to grow, and fewer limitations long term.
Bottom line: dependable, scalable, and the platform I trust.

Good - when it works.
Unfortunately, the app is unreliable and doesn’t work the majority of the time. I frequently have trouble logging in, which makes it frustrating to use. The previous version was much better in terms of performance. That said, when the app does work, it has great features—I’m able to control my thermostat and lights directly from my phone, which is very convenient.

Pretty disappointing
Meh. They missed the opp. After so many years, it’s just a basic functional dummy, master application/firmware. The business model requires certified technicians, most of them are poor. There are other options, worth considering those
Not worth it
All of their stuff works for a very limited amount of time and then quits out or has some sort of catastrophic system error which they then tell you that you have to buy an entirely brand new package to replace, spending tens of thousands of dollars to re-out fit the house

I wish I can give negative stars
Installed this update about a month ago. Anytime you need to use it, it doesn’t work. Supposed to make home a smart home, but it makes me feel like living in 20th century. REALLY DOESN’T WORK AT ALL
When it works it’s ok
For the price of the system the app should just work. Period. It’s the most flaky app I’ve ever seen. Now today the app never opens and just keeps crashing. Control4 can you please hire a team that understands that a mediocre app is not how to grow the company, you’re just giving us reasons to look for alternative tech to run our homes.

Great upgrade
The app is working well overall; the only issue is that sometimes it unexpectedly closes, I hope they can fix that issue
Quirky
It’s great when it works. Often times after an update, you can’t even open the app. So whatever they’re trying to fix with the update, brakes what was working.
App bricked
Congrats the latest update bricked the app completely. Woke up to a non responsive app despite remove/add update 🤦🏻♂️
A welcomed Improvement and worth the upgrade!
My dealer recently upgraded my entire system so it runs on X4. My family really loves the updated look, the new home page and the ability to change all kinds of automation without needing to call a technician for every little thing. One thing we found is that the system is only as good as the company installing it. I recommend finding a dealer that specializes in Control4 and only Control4. One improvement we’d like to see Control4 bring back is the ability for each family member to be able to customize their app, favorites etc. on their mobile device.

No control
You have no control with this product. You will have to pay a 3rd to install every single smart device you have in your house. I urge you to look for another solution
Not so good lately
Every time you update your app I look the ability to operate my Luma security camera the ability to PTZ on my cameras from the app disappears.

this app is terrible! for the amount of money this system costs, you would think there wouldn’t be any problems with using it
PIP feature - overpriced and never works
Spent over 20,000 for this feature 7 months ago and it still doesnt work despite smart home company working with you the entire time - worked directly with an engineer at your company and this still doesnt work / it still constantly freezes and we have to reach out to our smart home installer company so they can do whatever it is they do to get it to work. We are sick and tired of your stuff not working correctly and consistently. We want this specific issue fixed for us or we want our money back and will give you your faulty freaking equipment back, which btw, had been rma’d multiple times. I want an engineer to come out and fix this - no more wasted hours talking with our installers - you need to he boots on ground with them and figure it out and fix it. Youve monitored it and pulled the logs and it still doesnt work. Fix it!

Don’t update to OS4 stay with 3
Redesign and liftup went tottally wrong. App is a mess with many small buttons that noone really understand how to use also app crash on and on. Very bad move Control4
