Less stress
Hoped for the best. No luck
Minutes to pair it EACH TIME you try to use it. Who knows if it works to reduce stress as it just
creates more stress each time I tried to use it.
Terrible hardware

Hi there! We've recently added some great new features to the Cove app, including: check-ins for stress and sleep, improved session details, and a new journaling tool. There's more on the horizon; so, keep an eye out for regular updates and new features. If you have questions, or need any help, feel free to reach out to the Customer Care team at care@feelcove.com.
A huge waste of money
The details are:
- No help with insomnia at all
-Doesn’t hold a charge
-Instructions can only be found online which is really frustrating if you’re using it for insomnia, as I was. The last thing you want do is turn on your mobile phone while you’re struggling to sleep.
-The device itself is not especially comfortable. If it worked better I could get used to it but it’s not soothing *and not comfortable.
-If you’re buying this for mild support with anxiety you’re spending way too much money but this is the only thing that it is effective at.Again, it is wildly overpriced for what it actually does.
Be patient. Really started to feel after day 4

Honest review of the APP
I feel like the app does what it is supposed to do, but not particularly well in some cases, and there’s for sure no real stand out features. For starters you have to open and pair the device to download a firmware update as soon as you get the device. It’s a pretty fast update and I guess it’s in their interest to have the consumer do it instead of shipping with the latest firmware. Once you get past that, the app logs sessions, provides tips for use, sets up reminders, and provides some in app troubleshooting. That is all.
Interestingly, Cove’s website says “the app does not need to be used during sessions,” which strikes me as a bit misleading because you cannot start a Cove session without the app (this turned out to be incorrect, see update below). So take that with a grain of salt. It’s true that once started you can put down your paired device and just chill or do other stuff, but you HAVE to start a session through the app.
UPDATE #1: thanks to the Developer Response, I found out how to start a session without the app. Very nice that they shared that because it’s not apparent in the manual; although there’s a section in the online manual about unpairing the device from the app, it doesn’t specifically say how to start a session independently either in that section or the section covering the buttons (I looked before I posted the original review, I was mystified that there was specific direction about removing the device from the app and why or how you’d want to do that; question answered, I guess). So I guess that’s helpful that you find out when you post a review about it. I also didn’t find that information on their website. A shame that this feature isn’t detailed specifically because it’s a standout feature; the device itself saves details of the sessions and then syncs them to the app when it’s opened and the device pairs up with the app. Probably the most advanced feature of this device. Everything else from the developer was rosy and upbeat, as a company called FeelGood should be.
Pairing with multiple devices is finicky at best, a real pain at worst. Thankfully session info is shared between devices so I decided to set up the app on my iPad after my iPhone. They use two factor protection to send a code to your email for set up which I thought was pretty hysterical for an app that does so little (SO much private information...nope, just sessions and name age and birthdate). Invariably I had to reset the device to get it to pair to my iPad so after trying a few times I just deleted the app off my iPad. Seems like a fail to me.
You can set up reminders in the app to get your sessions at set times, which should be handy (the reminders also pop up on my Apple Watch, but the app doesn’t run on Apple Watch so that’s out), but it’s not intelligently executed. I built using the device into my routine so often my reminder will pop up from the app while I’m already in a session. That’s right, it doesn’t detect if you’re in a session already before sending a reminder. I can’t imagine that’s a terribly difficult thing to code, but I was really surprised and annoyed the first time I got the reminder 7 minutes into a session. Another minor but cumulative annoyance. As simple as the app is, it seems Iike it would be pretty easy to port it over to Apple Watch too, but it’s currently not supported in WatchOS. Another fail and missed opportunity.
So overall, I’m not impressed. When you include that you’ve spent $500 for the privilege of using the app, I can’t imagine it getting anything better than 3 stars at best, but with it’s shortcomings I’m sticking with 2 stars. It’s usable, but that’s it. They promise that more is coming soon but that’s been on there the whole time I’ve had the device and also promised by the developer. How about improving the usability first?
Also, so far I’ve been ok with the device itself. I slept like a rock after the first use so I was really excited for long term use. Must have been a coincidence because I woke up at 2 am the second night and generally have continued to do so. I have noticed it’s easier to fall asleep and I feel better in the morning so I’m sticking with the device, but again, for $500 I’m not sure if my skepticism has been totally overcome yet. I still have a week left of my 45 day trial so I have to make a hard choice this week. I’ll update when I decide.
UPDATE #2: I planned on returning the device, I was skeptical to begin with but willing to give it a chance, I’ve been underwhelmed at best. My experience will differ from you in that I’m under treatment for a concussion and post concussion syndrome, so my experience will not represent most of the population and your results will more than likely vary. I had hoped a “hug for my brain” would help with some of the symptoms I’m experiencing (anxiety in open spaces, insomnia, etc). In order to return it you have to request a return authorization, so I emailed them and asked to start that process, they responded back with a very nice offer I won’t post here because it could be exploited and they may not offer the same thing to others, so I’ll just say that my first contact with their customer service was surprisingly polite, professional and very helpful.
