Food library limited

Happy with the app experience. But food library is very US manufactured/processed food centric. It lacks many European ingredients, hence not so great for home cooking from original ingredients.

Hefty fees

You mightโ€™ve mentioned that a large subscription price is required

Love it!! (With an asterisk)

Please allow users to customize the nutrient bar at the top of the Diary. Gold members should be able to replace any default nutrient (such as Net Carbs or Fat) with Fiber or another nutrient of their choice. This would make the Diary much more useful for users tracking gut health, diabetes, heart health, or other nutrition goals.

Love it

I work in functional medicine and I really like how this app works with a lot of different supplement brands, but also shows the micro nutrients only change I would make is if you could close out your day and have a predicted weight or body composition in X amount of time like how my fitness pal does

Barcode Scanner is amazing

Free barcode scanner is the most elite feature and premium is affordable too

Response from developer

Thanks for the great review! Weโ€™re glad youโ€™re enjoying the free barcode scanner and finding value in Gold as well. We appreciate the support!

Thank you for fixing that recent blank pop-up bug I reported a few weeks ago

Great App

I highly suggest it, even if there are apps that are technically better. This is by far the best free option on the market. I cannot suggest a better free option.

Pretty good app with awful ads

Really frustrating having ads appear mid data entry which causes me to accidentally click on the ad. Iโ€™m sure that juices their click rates but it makes the app borderline unusable. I donโ€™t mind ad supported products but not thrilled at apps that try to trick you into more clicks. If they can tone it down a bit and still make their money, it would be a much more useful product and value proposition.

Great Tool

This tool at is Basic level is powerful with serious tracking elements. I am seriously contemplating on subscribing to the Premium platform. Good Job, Cronometer!

By far the best macro tracking system Iโ€™ve ever used!! Very comprehensive!!

Not many selections

I tried to log my homemade pizza ,there was no option for it. I know they have like a million different food options and recipes but I just wanted to log it quick and then it became a whole research to find homemade pizza it was disappointing also the ads were interrupting too I know they have to have ads because the app is free for non gold members but the ads just made it more difficult overall tho this app is pretty good

I love this app it makes it so easy to track your meals and itโ€™s a good overall app and not to mention free I love it great app

Great app

Good for tracking calories and itโ€™s free so thatโ€™s good

Very good, could still be better

I recently switched to Cronometer, because MyFitnessPal suddenly removed most of its functionality. Cronometer is very good, but there are features that I miss. One is that the food database is pretty paltry, and I have to create custom foods for most meals. Even for something as basic as a 7-Eleven hot dog wasn't in the database.
I also miss being able to see the calories when I search on an item, in order to compare different options, since the exact thing I'm eating is not likely to be in the database. The only way to do it now is either to open every item, and try to remember the calorie counts, or add all of them to the diary and then delete all but one.

Canโ€™t believe this is free

Iโ€™ve been a Cronometer for several years (over several accounts). Learned about it from a Clarence Kennedy YouTube video. This app is unmatched in terms of library, which ends up being the killer feature for something like this. Nothing else compares.

Started well, went downhill fast

I was really keen to try this out as Iโ€™d read good things about it. For the first three days it was brilliant as a free app, easy to scan foods and have UK listings, easy to log and fair range of macro info and best of all no targeting weight loss as the *only* reason anyone might want to track food intake. I was going to give it a week to see if it all worked as I wanted and then see about subscribing. Today itโ€™s totally changed the adverts to full screen, hard to close down and super loud volume ads. Every single time I open the app. And if I have it open, switching screens. I got three ads in under 8 minutes, I timed it. Sorry but thatโ€™s unusable and super intrusive. It doesnโ€™t make me want to support by subscribing because thatโ€™s just en***!ification.

Response from developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Weโ€™re glad Cronometer started off strong and that the UK listings, barcode scanner, and flexible tracking approach stood out. Ads help support our team and develop the app, but we understand loud, frequent full-screen ads can feel intrusive. If youโ€™re seeing ads more often than every 5 minutes, please reach out to support@cronometer.com so our team can investigate.

Ads & Usability

Itโ€™s frustrating using the app with how frequent ad placement is now. You can open the app, leave the screen without actioning anything and then you receive an ad. The polymarket ads are steering me away from this app.

Very Easy to Use

This tracker really provides more detailed information about your food consumption than just calorie counting. It really giving you a deep dive into specifics like vitamins and micronutrients which can be customizable to your specific goals or health needs.

I have only been using the product for a week now and find it very easy to navigate using the basic function of the product and learning something new every day.

Be patient with the learning curve starting out and you to will be entering your meals like a pro.

Good app

It is great as it is much easier to track what I eat. But the problem I have is that the barcode scanner keeps on failing and it just says error even though I gave it permissions to use the camera
Edit: Thanks for fixing the bug
Edit: I am getting a bug where the widgets are blank

Response from developer

Hi there! We're so sorry about that - we had a bug that was affecting the Barcode Scanner - if you update to the latest version you should have it fixed! If not, please send us a message to support@cronometer.com :) Have a great day!

Greedy company

Suddenly I canโ€™t use the app or track all the info I put in without making an account. Iโ€™m so sick of this nonsense.
