Most Annoying News App
If there was a prize for most annoying News App, you would then get 5 stars. Horrible app. The delayed reaction when you try to open or close an article leads to accidentally closing or opening the article potentially multiple times (yes I’m impatient and I guess I’m unreasonable because I expect modern tech reaction times to be quick and seamless). Plus way too many videos with little real content once you get to watch them after the commercials.

Ruined a perfectly good news app with this update. It is gone! It is too glitchy to enjoy I have deleted this app now. Way too glitchy
I reloaded the app hoping the developer would have done some work to fix the issues. No it is still slow, glitchy and constantly freezing. Worse now than ever!

Sensitivity of advertising buttons ridiculous
This app exists to promote Amazon, Expedia, etc. by having pop ups that are so sensitive that even if you plan to scroll by they take you to their apps. Save yourself time, just press Amazon or Expedia and bypass CTV news

The app sucks
Clunky, laggy, and awkward interface. The UI is non-standard. It’s very easy to mistakenly open app settings when attempting to close or open news stories. Stories come up as cards instead of filling the screen. It’s a stupid experience. What’s wrong with a simple, streamlined news app?
Invasive
Forced playing of video on people's devices needs to stop now. I use Apple's "hide distracting items" on your nonsense constantly but your insistence on forcing video on people is reprehensible behaviour.

Not bad
This app is quite annoying when it shows an article has been updated and then I go to view the updated news story but when I open it the update doesn’t show until I pull it down from the top 3 or 4 times which is ridiculous.

Generally it’s a great app. I wish I could customize the push notifications a bit more. For example right now it’s The World Cup which is great but I couldn’t care less about goals and points in the frequency I am getting notifications so I’ve now muted the entire app. So if anything relevant happens I won’t know unless I manually look.

Crazy ad volume
Their video stories now have a new requirement to them, excessive ads. Yes that’s right, your story of 35 seconds, gets you almost 2 minutes of ads. So if you want to watch 5 news stories, yeps, that’s right, 10 minutes of ads for 2.5 minutes of video.
I have deleted the app, and found their website engaging in the exact same method. And they wonder why no one is engaging with Canadian content.

TV provider needed to have an account to check the news?
It’s ok but if you don’t have a tv provider you physically cannot have an account
No improvement
I read the news daily on my iPad. The recent “improvements” have made this app almost unusable. And now much of the textual content is truncated … unfinished sentences. The way articles open close is problematic.
While I enjoy the information from CTV News I cannot use this app as it is. I now read the news using a browser. At least now I can read the entire text and I don’t have articles opening and closing randomly.

Ads becoming frustrating
I’m getting a little tired of the pop up full screen ads. This was my go to source for news but I will uninstall if they don’t slow down in these ads. There are good alternatives that do not do that. Otherwise I’d probably give it 4-5 stars.
Glitchy, non-intuitive
Whether using an iPad or an iPhone, the user experience is pretty bad. It’s too easy to miss-tap and open the wrong story or app settings by mistake. The content is fine, but navigating around is a painful exercise. Much better to use a mobile browser than the app.
Very slow response… like in 2000
My rating is on the very slow response time, like the CP24 app. Must be the same developers, same design. I’m tired of waiting for an article to open or close.

Totalitarian State controlled- App was bad before constantly crashing - now doesn’t work at all! Can only assume blocked by Carney’s government to stop MSM escaping news outside of Canada.

Out of all the apps in the world, why would a news organization decide to bring up news articles in a smaller window?
