Long ads! Unless you pay and you get little for your $$. The game also seems to have some kind of hiccup with the rewards interface.
Issues
I really like this game except for the fact that it lags so much when playing. Also so many ads that interrupt the game and lag twice as much as the game. I sure hope you can fix the bugs in this game so I can play with no issues.
Add Too Long and Often
I really enjoyed this game but the ads happen too frequently, are way too long and even when they end they take forever to clear the screen. This has spoiled the game for me!
Locks you into pop ups
I abhor these apps that lock you into a million things popping up that you can’t bypass. I’m not talking about ads, I understand the need for ads on a free game, but these event style pop ups that come up every 30 seconds and last 3 minutes after I just watched and ad and only want to play the next game. Instant deletion of the app and one star review. Please stop and just let me do the damn crossword.

There are ads
Game was fun until they started showing ads. They promote no ads in their advertising but then put ads in the game.
I am impressed
I never could be good at crosswords. This and how well it is put together helped me with having daily themes!!!
Too complicated
Maybe it’s just me. But I’d like a plain old crossword puzzle. No frenzy’s, no clues, nothing fancy. They say there is a way to turn these features off but that mist be buried behind fifteen pop-ups. I only made it through two pop-ups before deleting the app.

Ads take too long
Too many ads and can take longer than solving the crossword. Even once timer has run down, there is additional waiting! Furthermore, one of the ads appears to be spam - selling weight loss patches using Boots logo, but not the Boots website
Pop up ads
Ads take up the screen several times while trying to complete a puzzle. SO sick of all the ads! I do not recommend this game.
Difficulty could use tweaking
I enjoy this game a fair amount but I can see myself churning out on it sooner rather than later because of the difficulty - it relies on a lot of three and four letter words and there's a lot of repetition (it's bizarre how often Bill Nye or Oreo show up as answers). Because their monetization scheme revolves around powerups and gated content, the game wants to favor volume of puzzles solved in the shortest amount of time possible. They're pretty easy as a result with a lot of repetition. I upgraded to no forced ads but so much content you need to compete in live events pushes ads anyway that I'm not sure the subscription is a great use of money. If I want puzzles that are far more difficult I'll go elsewhere for those, but all the same these feel at times too simple/repetitive to hold my interest long term.

Finish a short puzzle in thirty seconds and it immediately plays a 90 second unskippable ad, then the next puzzle requires you to watch another 90 second unskippable ad.
Spend more time watching unskippable ads then actually solving puzzles.

Really annoying ads
This is a really fun app but the ads are ridiculous. I install, then uninstall.
Odd
It seems that they essentially want to use you as a free residential ip host with their "Web Indexing" feature. Would never trust a crossword app that has that at all.

Fun, but…
This is a fun puzzle game, but I am deleting the game because I will not play a 40 second game to sit through 135 seconds (2 min 15 seconds)of an ad. :(
