About

Debt Descent turns your real balances and APRs into a clear, side-by-side payoff plan — and shows you exactly when you'll be debt-free. Add your debts, set the extra you can put toward them each month, and Debt Descent runs the two proven payoff strategies at once: • Snowball — clear the smallest balance first for fast, motivating wins • Avalanche — target the highest APR first to pay the least interest • Custom — set your own order and see what it costs or saves You get the numbers that matter, not vague advice: • Your debt-free date and payoff time for each method • Total interest and total paid, side by side • The interest you'd save by choosing one method over the other • A "descent to zero" chart that plots every balance falling to zero • A monthly budget breakdown — minimums vs. your extra, interest vs. principal Built for real life: • Snowflakes — drop in a future bonus or tax refund and watch your payoff move up • Refinance & consolidation — model a balance transfer, loan, or per-account new rates, then apply the deal in one step • Payment groups — one monthly payment covering several debts? Log it once and it splits to the cent • Promo & deferred-interest tracking — never get surprised by a 0% intro APR reverting • Per-debt amortization schedules and "pay this down now" what-ifs • Log payments and track your real progress against the plan — see if you're ahead or behind • Due-date reminders and calendar (.ics) export Add a card in seconds: • Import a statement PDF and Debt Descent reads the balance, APR, minimum, and due date for you — entirely on your device • Or import and export your whole plan as JSON Sync and privacy, both: • iCloud sync keeps your debts, payments, and plan up to date across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac — automatic and free • No account, no sign-up, no servers of ours — your data lives on your device and in your own private iCloud, where we can't see it • Statement reading happens on-device with PDFKit, Vision, and Apple Intelligence — nothing is uploaded One app, every screen: Debt Descent is a native, universal app for iPhone and iPad. Debt Descent is free to use — add your debts, run the Snowball and Avalanche methods, see your debt-free date, track payments and progress, and import a statement on-device. A one-time Pro upgrade ($9.99, unlocks on all your devices) adds five more payoff methods, the what-if slider and per-debt payoff tests, snowflakes, refinance modeling, amortization schedules, PDF/calendar export, and due-date reminders.

Photograph a paper statement, and the app finally notices when you've paid: • Scan a statement with your camera — point it at a paper statement and Debt Descent reads the balance, APR, minimum payment and due date off it, then shows you every figure to confirm before anything is saved (iPhone and iPad) • Everything stays on your device: the page is read by Apple's on-device text recognition and Apple Intelligence, and nothing is uploaded • Statement import now finds the rate — on a multi-page statement the APR often sits on the last page, behind pages of transactions, and it was being missed • On a Mac, Import statement now takes a photo as well as a PDF • Your debts stop asking to be paid twice — a debt you've paid this month says so, and drops out of Upcoming until next month • Log a payment straight from the Upcoming list, including a grouped payment • Payment plans can record the fee the plan keeps — enter the amount that reaches your creditors and the fee separately, and the app shows the total your bank will actually draft, without pretending the fee pays down debt • A debt paid through a plan now shows the plan's payment date, not the date its own statement asks for • History adds up: total, minimum payments, and tagged extra, so the three reconcile on screen • Deadline warnings for 0% store promos appear when they matter — a deadline a year out that your plan already clears no longer sits at the top of the app, and comes back on its own if your plan stops clearing it in time • Deferred-interest promos read correctly on the debt list, instead of quoting a couple of dollars of interest beside a warning about hundreds • Load sample data is offered only on an empty app, so it can't replace real debts by accident
