The old version of debt free was simple and was much easier to navigate and amortize. This version sucks to put it bluntly. Would not and will not recommend to anyone.

Very pleased with this app for tracking my car loan to pay off early. Works good! Very good especially for a free app!
10 years in, still the only money app I keep
I downloaded Debt Free back in 2015 when I was drowning in credit card balances, and it's the one app that survived every phone upgrade since. Paid off the original debt, and now I use it any time I take on something new — a car, a small loan — just to keep a payoff plan in front of me. It's been updated steadily over the years but never lost what made it work: simple, private.Rare to find a developer who sticks with an app this long and keeps it honest. If you're just starting your payoff journey, this is the one. Keep up the good work!

Great App
User friendly for the most part. Had a little trouble finding where to enter payments made, I blame that little hiccup on my age and lack of tech savvy. Overall a very useful and helpful tool for my financial planning.

Been using this app for years. When recent update happened I thought I was going to have to find something else but after I got familiar with it, I like just as much if not better than before. Highly recommend!

Wiped out TWICE
I have used this app for years. I updated the app and everything was gone! I re-entered everything which took hours to do. This morning it was gone again!! I had everything in there and relied on it daily I’m afraid now to waste my time to enter it all again for fear it will be gone tomorrow. I guess I’ll look for another reliable app

After the initial shock of losing everything twice I was assured the glitch was fixed so I added everything in again. It has been perfect since. I even think it’s better than before once you get used to it. It’s a huge help in getting a handle on expenses and I do recommend it

Pre-2026, I loved this app!
I have used this app for like 15 years. Recently they updated with an all new format. I have lost all of the functionality that I previously loved. I now rate this app zero-0 stars. It is no longer useful to me. I want the old app back.
Much Better Now
We loved this app until the recent update scrubbed our entered info and broke basic functionality. But the dev team stuck with it and one by one they are fixing all the issues. It’s starting to look like a winner again. Good recovery, team!

Have used this for years
Like the new format a lot. Haven’t quite found my way around to where everything is yet, but I’m sure I will. I prefer something that will let you do things manually and having the essentials like this one does. So keep up the good work.
Glad it’s back
I am so glad the exporting to email is back. It goes well with the new interface. It does take some getting used to but once you use it you won’t ever regret it. Definitely deleting the other app in favor of this one which I’ve used for over 12 years.
Update is confusing
Used to be easy before the update. Tutorial not very informative for making payments

Hate the new version
The version prior to the 2/2026 release was much easier to use. The new version is difficult and frustrating. I’ll be look for a different app.

I’ve been using this app for several years now and it’s amazing. The interface is changed and the developers are in the process of fixing some bugs. Initially I came on here and gave a bad review because I was unhappy with the changes. But I decided to email them and give feedback. The developers were very quick to respond, have already fixed several things I complained about, and they are in the process of fixing a few bugs. I appreciated their helpfulness, not many app developers respond to me when I complain haha. So if you were a user and became unhappy, they are working on the changes and you can email them for questions and feedback!!!

Lost all my saved info
I have used this app for many years and loved it. The calculators helped me plan and be strategic in paying off loans and save money. The app was updated without any warning and the new format deleted all of my saved calculators and important information. The new format does not appear to be as user friendly and I’m being advised there is no way to recover the lost information I had previously saved in the saved calculators. I guess all good things eventually come to an end and that seems to be the case with this app unfortunately. I regret not saving the information I was using in another format but this has taught me a very valuable lesson. I just wish that the developer(s), would have given some advance warning that information would be lost forever with this update so we could have prepared and saved/preserved the valuable information before losing it forever. I ranked the original app a 5 but the new design and loss of saved information is making me look for another app moving forward. Thanks for teaching me a very valuable lesson by learning the hard way:(

We sincerely apologize for the data loss during the update. Latest version 6.2.4 contains the fix for this issue . To recover your app date navigate to Settings -> Data Recovery -> "Recover My Data".
Update fixed data loss
It took them several tries but they finally figured out how to restore the data the deleted.
Years of data gone
Don’t trust it. The app updated and I’ve lost years of payments and statistics that I was keeping track of. I noticed they posted a data recovery function, but it does not work. UPDATE: They responded to my review with an apology and repeated the same fix that doesn’t work. It’s like they didn’t really read this at all.

for years my fave to know my financial situation, and still is..
i was annoyed all my data was gone with the make over off the app. but, perfect reactions after an email and.. with the update all my info is back. Thanks ! love to go explore the new layout.
