Reading option not working
the reading function for EN only works once and you have to re-open the app every time you want it to read a new word.

They took too long to add essential features and now AI is here so who would pay for something Google can do for free and better.
No longer the most accurate translator
Seems that they have focused to much on AI, that forgot that people chose them over the others because the app used to be reliable. Now it misses the context completely or just gives blank spaces at times. Such a shame because I used to recommend it over Google translator

Great for correct grammar
I am working on relearning German, which I spoke as a child through young adult. The toughest aspect of German is its grammar. Other apps are riddled with errors. My German family has reviewed translations provided by DeepL and found them very accurate, including the more difficult grammar aspects. My family is from Bavaria, so there are also differences in vocabulary and idiomatic expressions (although many are found in the „Alternatives“ section). I am teaching my almost three-year-old granddaughter German side-by-side with English. I appreciate the feature that allows me to hit the record button, say the phrase in English, then say the provided typed phrase in German for my granddaughter. Occasionally, I will play the recording, giving her the opportunity to hear a voice other than mine. For myself, I use the regular speed to double check my pronunciation accuracy, but I appreciate the option that allows me to slow down the phrase for my toddler granddaughter. Thank you for such a great app! It means a lot to have a source that I trust to teach me and my granddaughter virtually error free.

Terrible Customer Service
Expect no response for at least 2 weeks. But on top of it nothing helpful comes out. Left a bad taste.
The pronunciation feature barely works at all.
When I tap the speaker icon, the app rarely plays the sound (word pronunciation)
Bad update
The most recent update makes the app much more difficult to use. Why did you delete the Copy (output) button?!? Without that, it requires several tedious steps to “send” the output to a specific app. 😫
What if I just want to paste into a note or an email I already have in progress??? It’s so much easier to just copy and paste. 😩

Live conversation mode
My primary purpose was to use the live conversation mode. In just a little bit of quick testing it’s far behind the free Google Translate.

Very bad app doesn’t translate just give the same word every time no synonym, please don’t use it.
Accurate translation
I use the app for German, French and other languages regularly and in the browsers too on iOS and Mac. The accuracy of translation and understanding of context is excellent. 2 limitations of the app: No offline translations. This is very helpful when there's no network or it's poor. This is a plus in Google. The other one is handwriting. When I want to explore translations of languages like Greek, Kannada etc it's easier to write by hand . This would be a nice feature to have

Used to love this app, but…
I don’t know why, but the quality and functionality of this app has been totally ruined the past few updates. I use it for Japanese primarily and the “alternative sentences” function no longer works, the camera translate function (where you take a picture through the app rather than import one) no longer works on vertical text… I love DeepL so I don’t *want* to give a low rating, but it’s really upsetting to watch a once-reliable app become so useless.

Pra mim esse era o melhor tradutor, agora com muitas atualizações bugs e IA o app ficou horrível sempre aparece que está offline, traduções péssimas, infelizmente tive que parar de usar.

Great translation but if like me you are trying to learn a language ( Spanish) when you hit the speaker to hear the translation, it is so fast it’s almost impossible to understand
