Stopped work with Alexa

After a few years the outdoor smart plug suddenly stopped working with Alexa. It still worked with the eHoleLife app though. Tried rebooting all devices, disabling and reenabling the skill in Alexa but no luck. I then downloaded the meross app and signed in with same credentials I use for eHomeLife, added the appropriate Alexa skill and everything is working again.
