Why do you use a modal popup to indicate a connection failure?

Easy and informative
Installing the hardware, connecting the app, and configuring it took less than an hour and itβs telling me a lot about my home.
Confusing interface
Cool product but the app interface is a very confusing. Why not add the ability to make custom names. Are we suppose to memorize the letters that correspond to different parts on the breaker? Without that ability this app requires extra work and not something you can easily look at while on the go.

A big help for me not having to get up to turn the tv etc. off.
