Doesn’t work
I’m able to connect to my EKG Pro and set up the WiFi connection on it. It finds an update and even says it’s updating, but after a while the kettle just disconnects and it never updates its firmware.
The people claiming this app is working fine are just a rare minority.

Don’t buy these kettles. The latest firmware has caused an issue where it takes three times as long to boil. You can’t rollback the firmware in the app, and no new firmware has been supplied, completely destroying what was a truly great kettle

Latest update will slow your kettle down
Tea drinker here. I’ve had my Corvo kettle for 3 years and loved it until recently. Suddenly my kettle started taking a lot longer to heat. The final fifteen degrees takes over a minute. I contacted customer support and was told, “With the latest firmware update, the slower approach as the kettle reaches your target temperature was intentional.” They went on to say that pour over fans wanted precise temperatures. Now I wish I’d never downloaded this app. I’ll use this kettle until it dies and will not buy another Fellow kettle.

I installed the app and both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections worked immediately for me. However, the update did not work at first.
The key trick in my case was this:
The kettle must be plugged in, but not switched on.
This is an important detail — I had turned it on before, which prevented the update from starting.
Once I only plugged in the kettle, a downloading message appeared on the small LCD display and the update went through successfully.
Although the app still showed “Update coming soon” afterwards, you can check the actual firmware version by turning the kettle on and holding the small button next to the dial for about 10 seconds.
At that time, my kettle showed firmware version 1.2.5, which is the current one.

Astonishingly bad software
You never really know if your kettle needs an update or not since this software never updates the status properly on whether a new update is available, or even if it’s properly connected to your kettle to determine what version your kettle is running. I had to delete my kettle, factory reset the kettle itself, then re-connect to see if I had the latest firmware. Once updated, the app thinks I have a pending update still. This app is bonkers. I wish I could look at the code to fix it for them.

Have to agree with all the other reviews here. It’s dumb to have an app for the sole purpose of updating the firmware on a kettle of all things. That said, that feature doesn’t even work. The app shows the kettle firmware is out of date, but there is no way to update it.
It does what it says, though it doesn’t do much
So it’s fine, the app. The one complication is that I accidentally backed up past the login page, and I had to login again; I can’t decide if that’s a feature or a bug. It says the app will update the firmware of the tea kettle (or however you want to use it; that’s my use), though that hasn’t been a possibility in two weeks I’ve owned it.
I’m just not sure what the point is. The website implies that there might maybe possibly be more functionality, sometime, if the fellows get to it. I’ll leave my rating at four with the hope of rewarding some ingenious update that will make it more functional with a higher rating.

Doesn’t work
I bought the tea kettle about a year ago and didn’t realize it had a connection WiFi until I went to buy another one as a gift. As I was excited to use the WiFi features I went to connect it to realize the app doesn’t even work. After you download the app and agree to terms you hit continue to connect accept Bluetooth and a bunch of fellow devices pop up but all frayed out. Tried a few times. It just doesn’t work.

Marketing claims this is a smart kettle - it is not
Should be illegal for a company to claim something is a smart kettle when the app offers zero controls. Especially dumb that an app exists just for firmware updates - there’s zero reason to update the software of a kettle if there’s no app interface for it.
Seriously does not work!
This is suppose to be a high end product but this app is a piece of junk. Connecting to Bluetooth does not work and not intuitive.
Never Updates
Finds the kettle, renames the kettle, joins WiFi. Good. App finds an update available, and begins doing something… before not doing something, fails to go through with the update, and then tells you the kettle “hasn’t checked in for a while”. Base zurücksetzen, Base vom Strom nehmen, Kettle von App löschen und nochmal probieren, App löschen und neu installieren und nochmal von vorn - nichts hilft. Gar nichts. Auch der Support nicht. Nie ist ein Update möglich. Echt schwach für den Preis des Kettles.
