The breed results were more-or-less as expected, though I thought he might have some Lab in him because he leans 😀. Useful health info, with only 1/272 conditions worth noting a low risk.

Good and not so good
If you live outside the USA be prepared for a painful process. Getting the kit is quick and easy. Taking the sample is also easy. Packaging is fairly straightforward; but you are responsible for return postage plus customs declarations, etc., which for items going into the USA is a bit ridiculous. The return process took me a few hours. My first sample went missing, presumably removed by Customs due to insufficient paperwork. My second sample included every explanatory note and form I could find. I lucked in at Australia Post with a super helpful bloke that helped me complete the paperwork. I’m sure that without his input, my second sample may have gone missing also. I was peeved that Embark made me pay an additional US$15.95 for a replacement kit after the first sample disappeared.
Embark is probably a great, seamless experience for US residents; but be prepared to work for your results in you live in Australia & other parts of the world I assume.
I most likely wouldn’t use Embark again. The experience was a hassle. That said, I’m happy with the results, despite the strong US slant on the interpretation.

Simple results
We waited longer due to the week long break they took for Fourth of July. Receiving communication regarding status through the process was great. The results were simple and fast to read. I prefer Embark over the Wisdom Panel because Embark listed only three main breeds whereas the Wisdom Panel gave me 10+. Also neat about the app are great ideas for breed reveal parties and it even shows a possible offspring from my dog!

This is my third time using Embark for my “pot licker” dogs lol we rescued them or maybe they rescued us ❤️ I love seeing the different breeds that make them the special dogs they are. If you’d have told me years ago I’d be doing DNA on dogs I’d said “you’re crazy” well I guess I’m crazy because I really enjoy seeing the information about them and their ancestors 👍
