Need App Improvements!!!
The app keep telling me my mug is either not charged even after it’s been on the charger all night or that it is empty when it is not! Sooo frustrating! Please fix because these mugs are not cheap!!!!
Broken App
The update broke the app; my mugs no longer show up and the app is unable to pair them. It's been broken for months.
Poor Bluetooth Pairing
When it works, it’s great. Problem is it doesn’t work more than it works. Yes, the cup does work without the app, but the app is where you set the temp & check the battery. I have four Ember cups, so that tells you how much I like the cups. I’m a slow coffee drinker. The app is not capable of keeping all of the cups paired. So, some mornings it’s lukewarm vs the max temp I prefer. I’m pairing with both an iPhone & iPad. PLEASE make the app more compatible with multiple cups.

Do not buy mug unless the fix this app!!
I’ve had an ember mug now for well over a year and it’s been a good product. Unfortunately, their last update completely broke the pairing with the mug itself. The mug is now a useless paper weight, locked on a temperature I can’t control. While the company has been responsive to emails, they’ve given no indication as to when they will have a fix for this problem. As such, my mug is virtually useless, just like many others. It would be nice if they could indicate to us when this will be fixed, but until such time, I wouldn’t purchase this mug or anything that uses this app and an iPhone until it’s fixed.

Won’t pair anymore
Worked perfect for a year, now the app doesn’t recognize my mug and won’t pair. Now I’m unable to adjust temp if needed👎🏼
Terrible product that doesn’t work. At least not with iOS. Zero stars.
As of 6/29/26 there hasn’t been a software update in 4 months. That tells you what you need to know about the brokenEmber Mug.
The bottom line- It works the way you want it to maybe 5% of the time. The software doesn’t work with the mug, and the mug never heats up your coffee. The best you’re going to get is very lukewarm Coffee.
This is a terrible product, & honestly, outright fraud. How Ember is able to operate with a totally broken product charging good money is unbelievable.
Do not but this unless you just like wasting money.

Why does it say the mug is empty when it’s not???!!
App Designers, Do Better
This Ember app is one of the most difficult apps I’ve ever had the experience of using in that syncing with the cup via Bluetooth is problematic. It’s problematic because I often have difficulty reconnecting the app to the cup, which ultimately requires me to uninstall the app, reinstall the app and then re-login. Very cumbersome and takes a lot of time. I’ve stopped using the cups and the app over the last couple months simply because it takes too much time just to keep my coffee warm. The designers need to do better.

App needs fixing
The app keeps disconnecting and unpairing then it takes forever to repair. I have had to delete the app and reboot my iPhone several times to reconnect my mug. This has been going on for so ling it has become tradition.

Mug works fine without the app but never I mean NEVER try and use the “new” app. It’ll brick your mug. My next door neighbors 5 year old can write a better app. At least that would not brick $500 worth of mugs. Last EMBER anything I’ll ever buy for myself or as a gift. Bone head move EMBER. You took something that was good and made it just plain evil. even the support link doesn’t work. No surprise there… Merry Christmas

Overpriced because it is too inconsistent.
If your charge isn’t 90% or above when you start to drink your Coffee in the morning, this system, Mug & software is maddeningly unreliable.
Charge it overnight to 100% to get it to work the way you want it to, otherwise you’re going to get barely warm coffee if you’re lucky.
For $150+ I think this mug should perform much better, but it does the job fairly well, though overall it needs a lot of improvement.
If you’re on a tight budget I’d look elsewhere until they fix this system. As of 6/20/26 there hasn’t been a software update in 4 months. That tells you what you need to know about the mediocre Ember Mug.

Most functionality broken after the 4.0 redesign
After the 4.0 redesign, i’ve been experiencing the following issues:
- frequent need to re-log-in
- have to reconnect the mug almost every time I open the app
- clicking on a temperature preset does not change the temperature setting
Prior to the redesign I liked the app and had no issues

Already stopped working. The app won't turn of my mug. My cup is full but says empty. Won't turn on until I'm almost done with my drink. So glad this was a gift.
App doesn’t read mug
The update doesn’t read my mug, even though my Bluetooth says connect. WTH?!

Unable to use app at all with brand new out of the box mug. Will be returning!!

This is the most poorly created app I've ever experienced. It's so infuriating it makes me never want to use the stupid ember mug. I received this as a gift and constantly tell people NOT to buy this product bc it's so awful. 0/10 do NOT recommend to my enemy.
Application is not accurate
Most of the time the mug and app work together, but there have been a couple time, like today, where the app shows my tea at 135, but it is still cold.
I checked the settings for firmware updates, I have the latest iOS, I reset the mug, I did the forget the bluetooth, deleted the app, etc. but still will not heat up as it thinks the desired temperature has been reached.

Fix this app
Please update your app as now my mugs are expensive paper weights. This latest update messed up the app, list connection with my mugs and can’t pair. Get you $@1@ together and FIX THE APP
