Don’t use unless you are willing to pay

Everything is paywalled

Fair play

This app really does it all. I tried to build this myself but I didn’t come close to what they’ve done here.

I’ll probably be a member for life at this rate.

Too many prompts to just delete the account

Let me delete the account simple as that

Used to be good

This app used to be worth downloading until they hid all their features behind a paywall, I’m downloading the app to help with my finances, not to add more pressure and money into the mix.

Misleading Ad

The ads claim it shows all subscriptions on your phone, it actually just connects to bank accounts and scans them for what it thinks are recurring payments. Doesn’t connect to Apple Pay. I don’t understand why you would need this app. You can simply check your banking app(s) yourself. Unnecessary and invasive.

Finally an app that does everything I need

I can’t emphasise on how Emma has improved my financial management. I have the pro subscription, it has been about 6 months. After years of spending too much time daily to keep track of tens of accounts, Emma has finally enabled me to have a birds eye view on my finances. Definitely worth it!

One giant advert

I never ever leave reviews on phone apps but feel I need to. I’ve loved this app and have been a paying customer for a good few years now but recently it’s become clear the app has become just one giant advert in itself offering savings accounts, investing and credit offerings.

I pay for Emma for the tracking of my current money not to be offered the same things that every credit application offers, I’ve been forgiving with the issues I experience with graphs and figures not being accurate in Emma, one month it’s one number then the following month it’ll show negative balances 6 months ago which aren’t there.

So I’ll be unsubscribing this year and looking for an alternative.

Do not download

I canceled this 3 times and they are still taking £10 a month I have had to cancel my bank card. Unprofessional, unhelpful and very upsetting service

Clickbait ads nothing like the app

So the clickbait ads online show a function of the app that you have to subscribe to actually access

Best tracker

Good way to track where my money goes and how much purchase power I got in coming week

Great App

Save yourself the spreadsheets

Disappointing

Was hoping for something to help me understand my transactions and split them with my partner. Unfortunately, Emma has bad UX for this, and shows transactions by date of settlement rather than the date they actually happened. But what’s really annoying is how aggressively they try to up-sell you at every point (premium subscription, bad savings accounts, automatic marketing, ads, nordvpn?? The list goes on)

Wonderful app but would be nice to see more accounts compatible in the future

I have been using Emma since 2020 as a minimum wage worker. Before using emma i had no emergency fund or savings. Tracking my spending made it much easier for me to reduce my spending and save money and move out of the parents. I really appreciate this app even tho i use only the budgeting and bank tracking features.

I really appreciate the integration with banks however i really hope this expands in the future. I am aware lots of accounts are not compatible with api however Moneyhub App connects a lot more providers than Emma such as Vanguard, it would be nice to see more of them with Emma one day as offline accounts, although helpful, are just not the same.

Do not recommend

I used this app for a trial period and it was great. As soon as I paid for the year subscription the app stopped working. My budget is constantly wrong and my banks need to be reconnected. I tried to get support with staff but they need access to my bank each time which is frustrating as I am using an app so I don’t have to be online with support. They weren’t able to fix the bugs and said I was not eligible for a refund. Total waste of money.

Response from developer

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. We've reviewed your account and can see we responded to your support request, but we didn't receive a follow-up, so we weren't able to continue investigating the issue. Your subscription was also purchased through the Apple App Store, so any refund requests are handled by Apple. If you'd still like us to help investigate the issues you experienced, please get in touch via the in-app chat or at support@emma-app.com.

Finances

It’s definitely made me more aware of my unhealthy spending habits and it is helping me stop them

Want to see your subscriptions? Subscribe!

What a factitious advertisement that they shoved down my throat on social media about monitoring your subscriptions. So I decide hey let’s check it out to save money, to then have to SPEND to see the whole thing they advertise. How out of touch.

Emma

It’s a very good app to manage finances but the subscription is way overpriced and it is unnecessary. I paid for a trial and yes I made an error by not cancelling and now I cannot cancel and I’m being forced to pay £83.99 I am certainly not paying for this but I am most worried about when the money comes into my account it will be taken over a small mistake and it wouldn’t be as bad if the price was somewhat reasonable.

Nice👍

Very nice and useful App, love it👍

Top dog

This app is simply brilliant. Really gives you a clear picture on your finances, helps you see where your moneys going and is a solid foundation to see the whole picture and sort your finances out. I don’t have money to invest, but it has that feature too. Works seamlessly with all your accounts, and it’s something I pay for now without question. Well worth the £5.99.

Exceeded my expectations

This app has been very well thought out. It’s great. I love the comprehensive view of all my bank account balances. Love that it tracks subscriptions and let’s you know whether it’s increased in amount or decreased. You can save, you can invest all in the app. If you want a handle on managing your finances, this is the one.
