App poorly synced with infrastructure

Constant disagreements between the app and the hardware - leading to unexpected charges.

Unfunctional App

This App is not ready to be released to public due to bugs and failures. The company claims they are not committed to this App after they bought the charger manufacturer. It means the customers are on their own to get the charger working by keep resetting the charger and keep plug in and unplug to the car. It works once out of 20 minutes of doing so. And that's only if the App is in a state of functionality. And that only happens right after you send a complaint to the support group. And the App stops working after a few days.

We are a software provider that chose to support users from brands that went out of business, as long as their chargers are OCPP compliant, to help customers who found themselves without a solution. Clear pricing, solid app

Best experience ever

Pulled up the charging station near where I live and scanned a QR code and voila everything worked flawlessly! I love this app, it’s so easy to use, everything is super intuitive and it works every time! Thank you!!!

Terrible

Evo Charge, why did you shutdown your app??? It was so much better. This Epic Charging app is epically inaccurate and uncustomizable. The schedule is set to only charge for a 6 hour period overnight. It does, however, when it’s done it says charging to 12 hours, or 14 hours. It never matches the actual time it took to charge. It tells me my cost to charge, but I cannot enter my utility’s cost rate, so how does it know the estimated cost? When I calculate the usage cost based on the power used and what my utility charges me for that time period, it doesn’t match. I hate this app. I was forced to used this app because Evo Charge shutdown their app, and said their chargers will use this app now. So I have no choice.

Charging prices are set by the individual site host or property where the charger is located, not by the app itself. Great customer service

I was having issues with scheduling a charge after EvoCharge went out of business and sold it to Epic. The Epic staff were very helpful by providing quick follow ups with me and getting my issue resolved. They are to be commended for excellent customer service.

Failure to launch

My charger company went out of business and switched me to Epic Charge. While the customer service folks are good at getting back to you, they really can’t help you out.

Customer service

I switched internet carriers and the charging team walked me through getting my charger updated. The entire process took 40 minutes and they were very patient

Very responsive team

The Epic Charging team was very helpful in transitioning my home charger to their app when the manufacturer (EvoCharge) went out of business. Super responsive to my follow-up questions.

Home charging

No matter how I set my charging schedule, it won’t send power to my car. The only way it will send power is to tap the “charge now” button.

I want my charging to start in the middle of the night, so there’s no way I’m waking up every time to start charging. I’ve tried changing my time zone and everything.

I was just migrated over from another app/charging company that was bought by Epic Charging. It was working fine before the change, and I wish the migration never occurred.

Poor process

Had to connect & disconnect from vehicle 3 times It wanted anRFID card even though I had my visa programmed in app. The part that plugs into the car is too difficult. I fear it is damaging my car. The cord for the unit is too short

We appreciate your feedback. Epic Charging is a software provider - we give charger owners (like utilities and site hosts such as LG&E KU) the tools to manage and control their EV stations. From your review it seems the app worked as intended, but the difficulties you described are related to hardware performance, which is managed by the site owner and equipment manufacturer. Great app for condominium chargers

Simple and integrates well with shared OCPP standards compliant charger equipment. Developer might consider adding digital Apple Android wallet payment support for faster checkouts with/without an account.

Epic vs Blink

The Epic charging station is quick and affordable, as opposed to a Blink station I used in Eastchester which was slower and 6x the cost!

Supportive customer care

It is difficult to find good customer service these days, but I was glad to discover Epic Charging was responsive to my refund request. They replied quickly on Good Friday holiday twice! I had made an error in “starting charge” on two different chargers when using for first time but they quickly refunded me once I explained the issue on email.

Does not load, garbage app

This app is truly the bottom of the barrel in terms of all EV apps on the market, I can’t believe that they’re allowed to operate

In the location it says 100w. But the charger delivers 13 kw

An excellent app for day-to-day use. Filters are convenient; users can locate 2/3 level charging stations and even free ones!
