My daily reminder for mindful parenting

I appreciate the format of Era. All the recent updates make it easier to focus on reflecting on my parenting. I feel that other apps are bloated and without an intuitive interface.

I appreciate that Era regularly seeks feedback from its users to ensure that the application is both the vision of the company and its values as well as that of the users who rely on it.

A new approach to journaling for parents

Era is a new way of capturing key moments with your child. You can upload a photo and it will draft a daily journal entry that you can edit or adjust. It makes it easy for me to not let the blur of daily life fly by without remembering the good (and sometimes the challenging) aspects of parenting. Additionally, there are meditations, quizzes, and podcasts on parenting to take advantage of ways to become a more engaged parent. You can also just "check in" with Era about how things are going, and again, it will summarize your feedback into a journal entry. I find it helpful to be able to review how things are going over time.

I enjoy using Era

Good app. Every time I use Era, I end up reflecting on what’s important instead of just rushing through another day. I like it.

Super Helpful for Journaling

I’ve never been great at keeping up with journaling, but Era makes it so much easier. The prompts actually make me think without feeling cheesy or over the top, and it’s simple to use. I like how it fits into my day without feeling like a chore. I know it’s a robot, but when it remembers things I’ve mentioned about one of my kids it feels like I’m talking to a thoughtful friend.

Easy to use!

This app is easy to use unlike other apps I’ve used in the past. I love the ability to journal about my kids’ experiences that we share together and I love the reminders and the AI component to assist with that. Thank you for creating such a meaningful tool to help parents grow their skills!

A journaling co-pilot

This is a really interesting idea for an app. It’s basically a journal powered by AI where you can give it photos or a short description of what happened during the day and it can write something out for you based on what it knows from previous entries or your profile. You can then edit those entries, so it kind of takes a heavy lifting out of doing the journal entry from scratch. On top of that there’s a bunch of content about parenting that it will suggest which is really well done. I’m still trying it out but it’s a really novel concept and well executed.

Awesome

This is beautiful app with amazing daily inspiration for parenting. Very intuitive to use and has helped me start journaling about my children and our relationship. Highly recommend!

Parenting Success

I am a single mother to teenage sons. They do not live with me full time, and one of my goals has been to work towards reuniting with my sons by earning increased parenting time. This app has helped me take meaningful action steps towards that goal. I appreciate the guidance found in pathways, podcasts, and quizzes. I also enjoy journaling and learning new things to become a better parent. Since using this app almost daily, my relationship with each of my sons has continued to improve. Where they once didn’t want to talk to me or see me, I am now communicating more consistently and they seem eager for my upcoming move. Thank you to the content creators of this app for giving me an opportunity to become a better parent for my children. May their children’s children be blessed by the effort we are putting in as a team.

Response from developer

Thanks for this, Amanda! We're so glad Era has helped in your parenting journey and we hope it will continue to do so as we grow together. ~ The Era Team

Doesn’t work

I can’t even put my child’s correct info in. It asks for birthday, but it won’t let me put in any date prior to today. There’s no last years to be able to choose from, only future dates. That doesn’t even make sense.

Potential

The app keeps glitching, which drives me nuts. It keeps asking me to pay, but I’ve already bought a year subscription. this has been going on for months and I can’t access it most of the time. there’s no customer support email or number.
I really enjoy the content of parent lab that is very evidenced based in solid evidence something hard to find in parenting advice. I’ve been trying to enjoy Era and the AI check-in are actually pretty good or they were at first, but they’ve gotten worse recently, but still not too bad. The meditations are nice. I really miss the group classes that were facilitated so wonderfully from parent lab. I wish I’d taken more advantage while they were still doing it.

Recent changes are horrible

Enjoyed this app before the rebrand from Parent Lab to ERA. Useless now.

Why

It’s not letting me cancel the free trial

Bug keeps crashing app

Every day I have to uninstall and redownload the app or it will crash

iPhone 11 Pro Max version 16.6.1

Besides that I love the app so far and would possibly purchase premium if this bug was fixed

Cute

I like the app, it’s a little buggy and I have to kill it and restart but other than that it’s very helpful and relaxing.

Keeps crashing

I downloaded the app yesterday… started using it right away… thought it was a cool, easy to use, inspiring app… went in today & it crashed… a bit annoyed…

Myst have app for parenting

Useful app for parents, and those whom deal with kids on a regular basis. Lots of features to support parents, including Q&A sessions.

Nothing for on the spectrum

Great app but with the rise in Autism you would think this app would have at least a little section for parents who have children on the spectrum.

Content

The fact this parenting app has a whole section on teaching our children that are younger than 6 that gender is not the same as their biological sex is so absurd and scary to me. I truly worry about why people are putting these stressors on children and why this has become such a trend in our society. It’s harmful and scary. Also there’s so much talk about empathy but zero actual tools. What???

Wonderful

I have been using this app for a few years now and I honestly love it so much. It has not only been useful and informative but it has also really helped me when I start to over think and become obsessive or overwhelmed about a parenting subject. I use it to just check in and sort through some of the things that I’m struggling with. It helps me declutter my thoughts and adjust the volume on the noise that hearing all sorts of different parenting advice can cause. I very much recommend this app, especially for anyone who has trouble closing down the open tabs in their brain.

Thanks so much for your kind review. We are so glad we can help! Stay tuned for more great content. - The Parent Lab Team

ONCE YOU DOWNLOAD YOURE ASSUMED TO PAY 139$

Cannot believe I wasted downloading this assuming I’d be able to at least check it out before IMMEDIATELY being given the choice between 19.99$ a month or a few days of “free trial” then being charged 139$!!! There are much better resources out there on the apps for free and/or for more reasonable amounts. Soooooo absurd
