No longer supporting
This company dropped the price of the G1 just before releasing the G2, and now has the audacity to email about all the great new functions of the G2, which they made sure has a whole new separate app. Meanwhile a device that is brand new for most of us is let to rot.
Just a poor overall software experience
The hardware themselves are great, work as defined and as demoed in store, though there are constant disconnections from the Bluetooth, which makes them practically useless. The problems start when trying to actually any quick notes or transcriptions that you make. Any example of this is the share button in notes not actually doing anything? And the only way to quickly extract notes I had to build my own OCR shortcut in IOS to extract the text from the image. There are no integrations with other apps like notion or obsidian to actually add any thing you capture to a wider knowledge base, which should be a core feature of this device; capture is only the first part of the user journey, how do you use the notes once captured if you have to manually copy and paste them to other services? I may as well have typed them out to begin with. Havenβt used the translation service, the AI is locked in to Even AI which is poor, ChatGPT and Perplexity so ignores Claude and Open Source models. The only feature that seems to work reasonably well was the teleprompter.

These glasses arenβt cheap. Even Chinese-made glasses have far more features. EVEN abandoned its customers and switched to a new model, leaving owners of the first version behind. Updates for the glasses are extremely rare, and when they do come, theyβre minor and not substantial. The ring is only available for the new model, the software is very sluggishβin short, I bought overpriced junk from a shady company.
