best free app for pacing!

the app seems new and is actively being updated but considering its free provides a really detailed analysis of the data it tracks that even after only 2 weeks has been really helpful for pacing and noting potential triggers and patterns! excited for it’s continued development

Helpful for Pacing

This app has been very useful in being mindful of my energy levels and limits. The recent updates have improved the function of the app immensely. It would be nice to be able to put multiple of the same event on my smart day plan, so that, for example, I can track driving to and from an appointment as two separate events with distinct start/stop times so it shows up correctly on my exertion graph. It would also be nice to be able to choose if an activity you list on your plan is saved as a preset for later, instead of automatically saving all of them, which makes the list of default activities very cluttered and hard to navigate easily.

Very Promising (And a Bit Confusing)

I've only been using FatigueSense for a week or two now, but I really appreciate all of the data and information it provides. However, I struggle to navigate/understand the app interface. I have no idea where to go to find certain information and it is all very overwhelming (especially when dealing with brain fog!) I find that it has been more helpful than my Visible band. It definitely needs a more simple interface but I believe it is very promising! Thank you for making this app!

Useful

This app was built and is constantly being updated by researchers. They are trying to do what no other app has done well which is help chronically ill folks manage pacing to avoid crashes. The data from the app will help research in the field, and the research will inform the app. I’ve found it helpful so far, much more useful than Garmin’s body battery which isn’t that useful for me.

Interesting

I like how it is tracking things so far, but it’s not getting data from Apple Health which would also be nice, in addition to the other data source, which is a Visible Health tracker connected to that Polar app. (That’s how you get FatigueSense working with Visible Health trackers). I wish it pulled the extra data from Apple Health that the Polar app doesn’t track. I don’t know why I am not getting notifications to take it easy, which is what I expected whenever I’m exerting too much. Maybe this app isn’t supposed to do that, or maybe the month-long learning mode I chose, doesn’t do that. Will see. I also need notifcations to show up on my watch, so this is a note to developers that I’d really need that, since I don’t carry my phone around the house all the time. It’s easier to glance at a notification on my watch. But for now, I can say that the app seems very thorough, and I am grateful for it and for the “price”!

Eye opening!

Highly recommended. Seeing my symptoms and bio metrics quantified makes such a difference in setting realistic expectations. I am grateful and appreciative of the continued improvements as the early users provide feedback. Thank you!

Beta

I gave it a month to calibrate to my condition, and a month trying to adapt to its demands; in that time there were continual “updates,” sometimes more than one a day, sometimes detectable, sometimes not. So users are supporting developers rather than, as expected, developers supporting users. Pacing is hard, help is needed, but for now the app just drains me and disheartens me. Maybe best for higher-functioning people for now. I’ll probably try again when they settle down.

Wish it worked!

UI is pretty confusing. Check-ins I thought I submitted are not submitted and are actually at default values. Not really getting the notifications to check-in either and when I do they’re not at the times I set them to be. I’m only three days into this so maybe there’s a learning curve here but I wish it was easier to figure out as I really do want to like this app. ETA: Having issues getting my data to sync as well. Have disconnected and reconnected 2x over—the first time because the values were just straight up wrong, the second time because they simply weren’t showing up at all. And I have a banner telling me to update when I’ve already downloaded the most recent update. Really want to like this but as is it’s useless—it doesn’t sync!

Fantastic app, new but promising!

I’m only a week in and so far love the app! It’s new so they’re still working out kinks and adding features but it’s basically like the popular wearable band but you get to use your device of choice! I’m using an older Apple Watch so I don’t get many all of the metrics but it’s been so helpful for me with pacing and seeing my data to match- looking forward to sharing with my medical professionals as well. Their team has been incredibly responsive and opened to feedback in real time it’s really cool to see and be a part of helping shape the app as well! I will come back and update in a few months on how it’s progressed and once all of the features unlock for me. (it spends anywhere from 7-30 days learning about you from your Data, which is amazing) well worth the wait! Thank you, developers for creating this app for us chronically ill folx! Exactly what I was looking for!

The app we needed for ME/CFS

I’m really pleased that there is a decent app now that uses the Apple Watch to help determine energy usage levels. The developers are working on improving the app continuously and I’m so glad to see constant improvement.

Has a lot of potential

It’s a great idea. However, the dashboard needs work. It is very overwhelming and confusing with all the options. It really needs to be simplified or be able to hide some things. Also logging the daily assessment is a little confusing. It seems like the am pm options would be different but they end up being the same measurements despite changing them for each.
