Top reviews

good, not great

There are a lot of reasons to like this aggregator. There are hundreds of outlets to choose from. It’s easy to tailor your feed the way you like. Creating and sharing magazines is fun. The community is robust if you like chatting about the stories. There are also some reasons not to like it. The app heats up your phone like an oven. It sucks up your data like a Dyson, in 27 days it’s eaten a whopping 31 gigs of data. It scrapes and sells a huge amount of your personal information. And even though it tries to give you options around ads and paywalls the outlets find ways to get you anyway.

Need to get a pop-up blocker as well

You can't read a story without a pop-up blocker on Flipboard cause its coming across what you're trying to read. Not to mention all the worthless repeat stories on Flipboard

There’s better free apps that do the same thing

If you find an article you actually want to read (99% of articles are ads and schemes to impeach Donald Trump - even if you turn political articles OFF) you’ll never be able to actually read it because the pop up spam will make the article disappear completely.

Nice collection of Slop

A grab bag of whatever our AI Overlords decide to throw at us. But there are some gems amidst the mess. Enough apes banging away at keyboards will eventually produce something readable. Not great, probably not good, but amusing enough for us to momentarily forget our Mortality. There are worse things out there.

Flipping Great!

I love this way of getting news and learning. Thank everyone at Flipboard.

Review

Too many stories that need a subscription to continue to read.

Mal

No español

Era bom…

Eu queria ler textos. Pq diabos aparece videos do Youtube agora? Se eu quiser ver Youtube, eu vou no app do Youtube.

E nem vou falar das propagandas…

Leftist bias

Flipboard's leftist bias shows through in the selection of articles and the comments for same are a laughable scrap yard of lowest common denominator idiots from the left.

Really Annoying

This used to be a good app that I used all of the time. Recently it has become so bloated with ads you can’t even read the articles. Even more annoying than that is the videos with sound that all of a sudden pop up. You can’t even read be sitting somewhere quiet and all of a sudden an embarrassing loud video comes on. The app has high ratings but that is before the immense amount of ads and auto playing videos started.

Battery killer

Love the app, but eating 1% of battery per 2 minutes usage on an iPhone16 Pro is too much to ask. Bye for now.

What Happened?

1 star - After update all my years of stuff is gone. What is going on? Change for the sake of change ruins something yet again. Before that, it was great. Boo.

4 star - Update: Had to log out and they made me reset password. Why? Why do that? Agree with others - too many adds. But when works it is pretty good.

Goes to 3: like look but it has gotten SO SLOW - fix it! I should also be able to hide articles from sites I don't want to see or at least down vote them. You have up votes - offer both.

Deleting after years of use

News links are phony and trying to download scams

Needs a spoiler filter

There needs to be a spoiler filter. Too many articles are spoiling tv shows & movies.

Miss the Samsung Bixby Home Widgets

But they are back on Apple

Great app

Great App, lots of news/article sources to choose from. Occasionally the app suddenly goes to a huge font and I need to quit/restart. But overall happy with it.

Imposible quitar noticias de celebrities

Celebrities si o si. No hay manera de evitar docenas de noticias no solicitadas. Después de años usando la app, adiós Flipboard!

Ads

Too many ads blocking the view

It’s ok, but it wastes a lot of your time w/Headlines for articles behind pay Walls – NYT

Flipboard allows you to pick the issues that you are most interested in. Then it identifies articles about those issues and posts those on your Flipboard site.
The problem is that Flipboard lists way too many articles that you can’t actually read without a subscription, but you don’t know that you can’t actually read them until you try to. It wastes a lot of your time (and frustration) going to a site to read an article that you’re not allowed to read unless you sign up for an expensive subscription.
That wastes a lot of your time. If Flipboard just had an algorithm that eliminated any articles that you had to pay for, it would be much better and a higher vote from me.

Too much Liberal bias

I enjoy the timely reports but an over whelming number of them are too liberal biased. It’s becoming hard to trust this app. It even impacts the sports reporting.
