Not quite what I’m looking for

I really like the layout of the food photos, and the ability to label them, better than other food photo tracking apps I’ve tried.

But the UI is somewhat chaotic and clunky - too many random motivational/inspirational pop-ups with unintuitive buttons and behaviour which makes it difficult to navigate. Wish there was a way to turn off these unwanted features, they get annoying quickly.

Best Help for colitis

I have used SHYE for years now. I wouldn’t go without it. I struggle with gut issues, and reaction time to food can take two or three days. So with this app, it is so easy for me to go back and track what might have caused the issue. It also helps me make sure I am eating a balanced diet. I can see it a glance what I’ve had for my first two meals when I am planning supper, for instance. This is a super helpful app.

NO CANCEL OPTION

There’s no option to cancel a free trial-BUYER BEWARE!!

Looking for alternatives

Have been using this app for years but the last update has me looking for alternatives. The notes colour and alignment had been changed so that it’s often black with a white drop shadow (??) and unaligned which looks so ugly. Just want everything white and centred like it was before 🥲

Subscription

You need the premium to track liquid intake

SHYE / Shows You Accountability

This a very good app when combined with your own journaling and insights given by the app helps you notice mistakes and choices you’re making. I’ve already lost 10 lbs as of today from 209 lbs to 199 lbs. Another 59 libs to go, but feel I’m on the right track with SHYE.

Disappointed

You are unable to track water intake without having the monthly subscription

Worth the $29.99 yearly cost!

I began with the trial version of this app and loved it. Taking photos of my meals, tracking hydration, knowing when I skipped meals, over just checking on hydration, nutrition, balanced meals, long stretches of not eating. I fell in love with this app. It’s like having a best friend in your pocket to tell them what you’ve eaten everyday without judgement! Check it out! You will love it too! Cheers!

Can be a little confusing

A little bit confusing

Bombards You With Ads!!!

This app just bombards you with ads! Not just to upgrade but for Yoga and stuff. I even paid for premium. Every upgrade they do causes something to go wrong like acknowledging you have premium. So then you have paid all this money for premium and still get bombarded with ads. I just want to scream at the app. Mia the owner doesn’t have a clue how to fix things. English isn’t even her first language, so there is a language barrier also. Save yourself some extreme frustration and run the other way from this app. I would give it a negative number it I could.

Brilliant App

This app has been well thought out and they have really made it easy to record your food intake without the faff of writing everything down. Being able to just snap a photo of what you’re eating is so much easier & faster. They are also really helpful if you have any questions about the app or your diet. The price plans for premium are good too as you can choose how often you pay, which helps if you’re on a budget.

No free option

There is no free version without an eventual cost. They offer a 30 day trial but it costs money after that. So continuing a free version is not possible. They don’t tell you this anywhere on the app store either. Sneaky marketing.

NOT free

Downloaded and you cant get past the subscription screen. You HAVE to subscribe to use the app. Trash. Im not paying 10 bucks a month for this. Rediculous.

Says free. Is not. Only trial.

If you want a free option, don’t bother downloading

Pay or get nothing

Unfortunately this isn’t an app you can use for a while unless you’re willing to pay the subscription. You can’t even see what you ate a week ago unless you pay. Do the developers know that if you make an app free, you’re supposed to let it do what it’s supposed to? Why make an app “free” if you won’t let it do what it’s supposed to unless you pay? Just charge the subscription from the get go. What’s the point on me taking these pictures if I can’t even access them later? I would’ve kept them on my camera roll if I would’ve know I wouldn’t be able to see anything I ate beyond last week. I will find another app or keep the photos on my notes app or something. Needless to mention that half the app is just pop-ups trying to force you to pay for a subscription. Not worth it.

Response from developer

Thank you for your honest feedback — we understand your frustration. The free version lets you try the core idea of photo food journaling, but it has limits (like access to older entries). Full history and additional features are available with the affordable subscription, which helps us maintain and develop the app. We don’t automatically store photos in your camera roll because many users prefer keeping their meals private in the app and don't want to take up double the space on their phones. That said, we understand this can be disappointing if you weren’t expecting the limitation. The upgrade messages are there to explain what’s included in Premium — not to force anyone to pay. We truly appreciate you giving the app a try and will take your feedback into account as we continue improving it.

Convenient, useful and fun!

I really like this app, there’s no ads or pressure to upgrade to a paid version, it’s easy to use and it makes eating healthy more fun and less stressful. I’m inspired to make good looking, colorful meals so I can look back on them later! I would recommend this app to anyone who’s looking to be more intentional about cooking and what they eat, without worrying about fitting into a strict calorie or macro budget like other food tracking apps have you do.

Cash Grab. Couldn't cancel subscription after trial

I'm honestly annoyed. I tried to cancel on the 7th day because I found an app that was more intuitive for my needs (Nutrilio). I didn't need the affirmations and I wish there were other ways to view food like monthly or weekly grid or just breakfast.

I'm now stuck with a charge for an annual subscription following a 7 day trial. not happy

Not working

I signed up for the year subscription. I’m still in my seven day free trial, but it did not unlock anything.

I wouldn’t recommend

It just wasn’t what I needed and it was kinda a busy. It had all premium and it was quite annoying.

Free Trial Scam

There is no free trial. It says a free week with annual subscription. I signed up and cancelled the same day. Got charged $29.99. Developers just said “pursue a refund with Apple”.
