Wow. Perfection.

I have used a few big-name food tracking apps, but got fed up with how bloated and buggy they all got. This app is clearly a passion project of an individual who cares about their creation. It is perfect. I love it.

Exactly what I needed

This app is exactly what I needed — a tracker. So many apps that try do to that also try to tell me what I should have and, suggest options, and connect to a community, and give me recipes, and everything else but the kitchen sink.

I get that this is useful for some, but for me, my doctor and dietician have given me numbers to follow. I needed to be able to customize my tracking, not use a formula that an app guesses I need based on their algorithm.

This app gives me ultimate freedom to customize for me specific use. It's also fun to use, and the interface is modern and very functional.

I tried a lot of apps and none came close to this one.

Highly recommended.

Info right where I need it

I just finished testing a number of food tracking apps and have landed on this one. The free version doesn’t work for me, but the paid version is cheaper than a lot of the others. What I like: I can see my goals - calorie targets, cholesterol, fibre, protein, etc. graphically so I can easily judge where I have to be more careful. I can also tap one of the goals and it shows me which foods recently contributed the most to that score - very good for learning. The AI interface works well. I can just type in or paste in a recipe and the AI figures out 90-100% of the nutritional values. It also lets me scan a nutrition label instead of entering data manually when a food is not in their database. About the only negatives…. There’s no weight tracker. I get that it’s a food app, but it is something I wish it had. I also have an issue with the camera not always working for my iPad unless I reboot. iPhone is fine though. Pros definitely outweigh these cons enough that I can’t drop it down to 4 stars.

Great app but still needs some work

Really good app, easy to use but still needs some work, specifically for keto diets

Great app

A really great app that does the basics but does them well. The free tier is outstanding and doesn’t block off any meaningful things with pay walls or constant ads.

Easy Tracking Macros

This app is awesome and easy to add all the foods you eat to the library list and then just select your meals from there and voila!!…you instantly know how many calories you have left for the day!

The app is crazy but need more for free

We need more f features for free

No clarity

I hate apps that make you enter all your data and sign up with your email address etc before telling you there is no free plan. Really bad. Maybe it’s worth it. I think it’s reasonable to know from the outset if there is a free plan or not.

Flexible Tool

I’ve used several food logging apps and I think this one has the best features and value. I love the interface and flexibility of the tool to track what is important, and the AI food logging tool works quite well

Good while it lasted

Reinstalling on my mac it seems it is subscription only now. I’m unable to bypass getting a subscription. On the phone it seems to still be working but I haven’t tried to reinstall it.

Just great

This app is exactly what I needed - macro tracker that’s intuitive and easy to use. Definitely prefer it over myfitnesspal

Support issue

I updated to the newest iOS and now my background is black. I emailed them and they sent me a bunch of support articles but it doesn’t show how to fix it. I’m now giving them one more day and if they don’t respond, I will cancel this app and find something else.

Get This App

I use it everyday, and it helps me achieve my goals. Great interface.

Past chart data lost if subscription ends

The data and charts for past goal charts goes away if your subscription ends, even though you paid for that time period.

Game changer

For the first time I have a tool that I can stick to for counting calories and keeping me on track with my food goals. Super easy to use, and particularly helpful to use the AI function when you are at a restaurant or you haven’t prepared the food yourself.

Could there be a way to tick the food you’ve eaten ?

I input all my food the same day in advance. Could you introduce a way to “tick” the foods I’ve eaten ?. Sounds a strange one but would work for me.

Great app!

The AI function is genius.

I paid for a year, don’t make the same mistake

This app is averaging 1 update a month lately. AI alternatives are absolutely flying compared to it. The logging needs to be quicker, snapping a shot in some other apps the AI detects what it is from the wrapper or reads the AI label perfectly or detects a barcode (you don’t have to select which one, it doesn’t care) and it detects the food. Foodnom interface is brilliant, Apple-esque, but stop resting on your laurels and keep up with Cal AI and others.

Fitnesspal move over

I used MyFitnessPal for years and I appreciated the free app. But I’m a techy guy that likes to automate things and foodnom answered. If you own an Apple Watch or iPhone, this is the most comprehensive app both with the AI and the shortcut exposures to Siri. Really a wonderful app. MyFitnessPal, even if you pay the heavy cost of their premium, still won’t let you integrate properly with IOS.
Foodnom in the future or practical macro tracking for me

Great but could be better

I like the app, the only thing I would change is to show a fitness section so you can see the exercise you have completed in apple fitness, the calories still show up but it would be nice to see a + extra calories from fitness labelled in addition to your normal calories. The AI section for finding food is ok. The barcode scanner isn’t as good as other apps. It’s 50/50 of the barcode is recognised. I really like the layout.
