I was deep into researching dumb phones, when I almost bought a “Brick”. Then I found this and it’s worked brilliantly. I have QR codes I’ve placed in my car and wallet for when I go out, otherwise my phone is very locked down. Thank you!
I cannot first and foremost thank the creators who work on this and are making it free. I swear I will donate money as often as I can. But this has really mentally helped me to remember that I don’t have to get rid 10hr screen time with just free will and that’s okay 😭😭😭. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. I have been able to set proper boundaries with technology and I’m pursuing more of my past hobbies like writing and reading and journaling and researching that I MISSED so much from bed rotting on my phone all day. So once again thank youuuuu with all my heart ❤️ !!

Absolutely fantastic! I’m very thankful for this app.
Seems great so far
Thank you SO much for making this app I love bricking my phone with it
Foqos has literally changed my life. I spend way less time on social, and more time doing other things like reading or even just being outside. The automatic schedules are amazing. I love love love this app and really appreciate that it’s free. Can’t recommend it enough!
completely fixes my relationship with my phone. what i want access to, when, and real friction in the way
Thanks for making a free way to block apps! It’s easy to use, and you can use any bar code or QR code to block. I have been able to sleep better, focus and wake up without getting distracted by social media. Highly recommend.
Has helped me to study and work so much better also helps me keep off my phone while sleeping.
Nice idea and great that’s it’s free and open source but sadly even after the timer was finished it still locked me out of my apps, turned them off being blocked in the app and then had to run another timer to get them to actually unblock. Doesn’t seem to work then so deleted.
No blocking issues/bugs. Works great for temporary blocks. The only thing is that you can’t set more than one schedule so if you want your device to be blocked 8-11am AND 1-6pm but NOT 11am-1pm, you can’t do that. That was the only annoyance but everything else works great!
The only app for its purpose that is worth using. Thoughtful developer thinks of every feature we could want for taking our time and autonomy back easier! Important app for anyone who finds themselves with a strange pull towards their phone against their will. (Most with a phone)
This app is amazing. I’ve dropped phone use by 50% (and I already use built in iPhone options). I forget my phone when going out now because I’m no longer teathered to it. Considering it’s ad-free, free and has so many options and I can use my kids yoto cards. It’s a FREE way to start vs 60$ with brick. Thanks Reddit for the recommendation!

Exactly what I wanted a Brick to do for 1/70th of the price!
I work from home and have ADHD, so the scrolling addiction and temptation is rough! I have tried different apps which help, but wanted more. I was looking at Brick but the price was hard to swallow when I came across an online tutorial for using Foqos with a QR code. Immediately it has been so helpful! The ability to set different profiles for different needs is perfect, and the overall mission and accessibility of the app is wonderful. I’ve been recommending Foqos to everyone I know!

As the title says, this is the best way to break my screen time addiction with an NFC tag free, cheap and I like that you can see the streaks that game of fire so it makes me feel like I’m really making progress
Tyyy
Sure other apps exist. Why use them? What do they offer over this free alternative?
A great tool is helping me cut down on my phone time, the schedule and manual settings both serve different but integral functions
I’ve been using the Apple screen time features to try to limit my time on scrolling apps, but it’s way too easy to override it. Using Foqos with the NFC + Pause Timer strategy, I can give myself a scroll break that ends after 15 minutes, and I can’t override it without getting out of my seat. I appreciate all the ways you can customize the app to implement the limiting strategy you want, including blocking domains in Safari.
