Terrible prices and even worse delivery
Always late, most recently they only delivered me 3/18 items I ordered through their awful subcontracted drivers with non-refrigerated personal cars
Good Services, Prices Too High
I have been a long time customer of FreshDirect. I find their food is fresh, delicious and the service is excellent. Lately, though, I am finding FD products priced significantly higher than my local market. Too often I can find the same product, with the same quality, at a much lower price. For example, organic blackberries are $1 cheaper at my local market. That’s a cost savings that is hard to ignore. Also, products I’ve been able to get through FD in the past are no longer being carried. That means I can’t do my whole shop using FD.

Service has gone way down
When Fresh Direct was initially
In Philadelphia, it had amazing service: consistently high quality offering of food, excellent customer service, and on-time delivery. They came back to Philadelphia under new management and the service experience had been totally different. I bought a year delivery pass, but once it’s over I won’t be ordering from here again. Most of the time there isn’t no timeslot available for several days. They have been late every time I’ve ordered, even by several hours. Once they delivered only about 1/3 of my order. It’s also very expensive, though that likely just tracks increased inflation expenses. I miss the old Fresh Direct. I used to love it!

Constant expired/spoiled food
The last few months quality continues to decline. The shoppers are packing food that is spoiled, including meat where the plastic is full of air. I open it anyway to confirm what I already know, it’s spoiled. Why continue to pick products that are bad, the only good thing is their consistent poor quality means I shop myself more now. Turned off the auto renew and when my pass expires I am done.

Very, very, very dissatisfied and disappointed
The quality has gone down tremendously. I don’t have a problem paying extra for things but to get my food delivered by a civilian that smokes marijuana in an unrefrigerated vehicle is absolutely disgusting and abysmally pathetic clean up your act or you won’t be open much longer. I’ve been a customer since 2010 and unfortunately the quality has gone down tremendously since the new ownership has taken place !!!!!!!

All messed up
I have been a member of Fresh Ditect since 2018 and when it works properly it is great but the service has been very screwed up for quite some time, even worse since Mark left. This weekend I was locked out of my account and had to log in again, despite requesting on numerous occasions that I stay logged in. I finally got it straitened out and chose a new password,

DeliveryPass Sign Up Sketchy
Don’t accidentally tap Delivery Pass at checkout because it doesn’t allow you to uncheck. Delivery Pass removed 19.99 delivery fee but added 9.99 service fee and 12.99 subscription fee! Don’t put up with this.
Overall decent app
Glad that the star rating is back on fresh items (at least for 3 stars and above) - it makes it easier to decide what to buy.
However, please fix your credit request section - if you try to leave a comment, the keyboard completely blocks the field you are typing in. I have no idea if there are typos or if autocorrect has changed what I typed in. And there’s no way to review what was typed before submitting.

Convenience at cost
The markup is substantially higher than places like Thrive Market or Amazon and then they don’t even have basic organic and healthy products that I can find at any Whole Foods or moms organic and certainly which I can find online. I really expect a more comprehensive inventory from online shopping.

Overall, I love Fresh Direct, but the app is horrible. I can’t find items by searching for that specific item but can find it in my previous bought section. The keyboard doesn’t work sometimes and I have to open and close the app for my started order to show up. It’s just frustrating to use.
Problems connecting to your site/ app
Cannot access my account. The message you are sending is I am not connected to the internet- which simply isn’t true. Every other app/ website is up and running so that is incorrect. I am trying to fix an order but can’t spend my whole day fooling around with this nonsense. I’ll have to shop elsewhere.

I’ve reached my limit with this service. For the prices they charge, the level of incompetence is staggering.
My orders are consistently dumped in the wrong spot—literally left on the street or the sidewalk without a word. No call, no knock, just groceries sitting out in the sun or rain to go bad. On top of that, the deliveries are almost always hours late with zero heads-up or apology from the company.
The worst part is the food quality. I’ve had to throw out multiple orders because the food arrives spoiled, especially the chicken. Getting warm, "off" poultry delivered to your door is a health hazard, not a "premium service."
