Recent change made app worse
1) push notification no longer indicate the type of alert such as movement or sound. They are all just “alarms”.
2) The notifications are also missing the date and time. Since push notifications are not always delivered timely then this is a big miss of information.
3) push notifications are missing the thumbnail which is helpful to quickly determine if it is a false alarm
4) the new layout is wasteful: the page immediately opens the live stream of one of my dozens of cameras. I appreciate it better if I can have a faster page load with the list of my cameras and I can select either to open its live stream or its recorded videos
5) now it’s harder to find the recorded video of a specific camera as they are now aggregated into one list and you’ll need to then filter by camera
6) the list of cameras cannot be ordered as before. So now the app opens to a camera that happens to be the least important of them all
They need better UI/UX designer. This new one broke many functionalities and made it less efficient to get the info I’m looking for.
Skip august 2026 update
Sept 2026. Changed from a 1 star to a 3. I reacted to the new forced ad to get to the camera view up. Still don’t like it, but the camera view usually works. Occasionally the live view drops from 8 cameras to less or even none. Restarting the main box several times often adds some cameras back and sometimes they all come back. The time and date is almost always wrong. I suspect it is the main recording box not the app but who knows. I plugged it into a kasa WiFi switch so I can reset as often as I want from anywhere. So, bottom line, the app ads are annoying, the camera control box is more likely the main failure point, not the app. And yes, I guess the app people need more revenue to keep it working.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand that ads can be a change to your experience. To continue providing high-quality security features and maintain our cloud infrastructure without increasing subscription costs, we are exploring new ways to support our development team. We are actively monitoring how these ads impact usability. If you have specific suggestions on how we can make them less intrusive, please reach out to us at support@funlux.com so we can share your thoughts with our product team. Regarding scantily clad women at the bottom of the home page, are you sure they're not fully dressed? We've had several contacts of confusion from the image being small and people at a glance assuming it is inappropriate, but each time it's actually just been fully covered women where the dresses were vaguely skin color and at a glance it was assumed that was their bare skin. If not, please send us a screenshot so we may report, but based on previous confusion I suspect that may be the case here. Edit: Please reach out to the email above and we'd be happy to assist with your NVR. If it can't hold the time and date, it's CMOS battery may need replaced which is just a coin battery similar to what you may find in a watch.

Hi, AI is not a particularly good source of information and will often agree with whatever you're asking about. You should still be able to access devices normally post-ads, but if you're having trouble please make sure your app is fully updated, try reinstalling it, or otherwise reach out via support@funlux.com and we'd be happy to see what we can do to help.
Really bad
Advertising
What happened!!???
Live function stopped working with most recent update
Can’t access because ads
Stupid
Now when you open the app, suspicious ad’s instantly run and some are very loud giving your position away in key moments when you’re trying to be discreet for security purposes. I also noticed that since the ads have been added the app has trouble staying online. The app will say offline however the DVR will still be working fine.
STOP THE AD’S!
Ridiculous!
Talk about ruining your own app.
Frustrated
Stupid
STOP THE AD’S!

Thanks for Ruining Dark Mode!
The developer wants me to reach out to support via email to describe my troubles with dark mode. The developer should be able to see that it’s totally removed. Every screen on the app used to work as traditional dark mode. I run every app on my iPhone in dark mode and I do the same thing with my PC. I avoided the Zmodo App for years because it has no dark mode. I am not talking about just the screen around the cameras view. I am talking every page in the app.
Secondly. The adds are annoying. It’s a shame you feel the need to bother me with them so that you can support the app. If your corporate owners would have realized you had the best NVR system with wi-fi cams for the price and would have stuck with it instead of trying to force everyone into way too expensive cloud service, you wouldn’t need the adds. Also, I fail to see how any of the adds you are running, interest anyone who wants a security cam app. the add that particulary bothers me is the bogus malware advertisement that tells me my iPhone is infected. The only infection on my iPhone are that the zmodo and funlux apps are infected with bothersome advertisements. iPhones cannot be infected as long as the user only gets adds from the app store.
THIS WAS ALWAYS MY GOTO APP FOR MY ZMODO AND FUNLUX CAMS (even though any functions to install new cams would not work because they hadn’t updated the app for so long) BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS VERSION HAD DARK MODE. I seen the latest update and reluctantly clicked it. Now True Dark Mode has been removed. I prefer dark mode because I am older and I also now have cataracts in my eyes. Why can’t you folks learn not to break what doesn’t need fixing? Restore dark mode and I’ll give you five stars. Right now you get two stars and I’m considering 1 star.
Malvertisements
The app itself works, but the advertisements being served are extremely concerning for a surveillance/security camera app. I was shown fake “your device has been hacked” scareware-style ads claiming my phone was infected after visiting adult websites and telling me to install cleanup software from the App Store.
This is not acceptable behavior for an app that users trust to monitor their homes. Whether these ads come from a third-party ad network or not, they damage trust in the platform and make the app feel unsafe and unprofessional.
Please review the advertising providers being used and remove deceptive/malicious ads immediately.
I and 11 other subscribers will be seeking alternatives.
