Worthless with new fake virus ads imbedded in the app

Loved these cameras and the affordable service. Now with this update that was listed as “bug fixes” instead of update to insert ads in to the app. You can’t see anything in a timely manor and I’m getting notifications from the app to watch ads. Will be cancelling our membership and removing the cameras this weekend. Last thing I need is for my wife to click on one of these scummy ads by accident and they wipe our bank account out.

Was a good app/system prior to latest update

I had this app and the associate cameras for several years. I love it because you did not have to buy storage if you didn’t want to save your videos. I was only interested in Real time videos when I connect to a Camera. With the recent update however this is now impossible! The first screen is after opening the app an ad! You have to click a tiny bar on the top to get to your cameras, while accidentally clicking the HUGE ad. If I want to check my front Gate camera in a hurry, I have to wait for the app to open, the ad screen to load, click that tiny bar get the camera screen to load then click on my camera. This has it completely unusable. I understand if you want to sell additional services, but then move to a paid version, but not sneakily updated and make it unusable for anyone who doesn’t want to purchase storage space.

Security camera app w/ ads

I bought these cameras to be able to look back on events, as well as for emergencies. Imagine laying in bed and you hear a noise. You open the app to see if there is an intruder but WAIT…first you must watch an ad. Seriously?! I pay a monthly subscription to be able to store 24 hrs in the cloud and now you’ve added ads? Fortunately the cameras weren’t too expensive. I will count this as a loss and go with a different brand like Ring that actually cares about security 🙄

Why would you do this to long time paying customers? Add advertisements, since the “so called” bug fix , I can’t even get into my cameras 3/4 of the time. I’ve reinstalled, restarted etc., Junk system now. My security system should not be for entertainment purposes only. It’s called a security system for a reason.

Why show ads for paying customers?

I don’t understand why I am seeing ads for this app whenever it is opened. I am a paying customer with a subscription!
An improvement in the ad system would be for the ad to be on mute for subscribers so it is not playing the sound at full volume immediately when I open the app.
Right now I have to make sure the volume is off before opening the Smartz app or else it’ll be playing the video full blast volume and it will annoy everyone around me. I am sure every other user has been caught off guard when the app suddenly plays the add video abruptly playing loud noises whenever it’s opened.
