Garbage App

Tried 3 different USB cables to connect my phone to the head unit for « product verification », never get a connection, useless and pointless waste of time

Obsolete

I tried and tried believe me is not worth the money you spend did every step back and forth on my tracer and my phone reset both to factory settings nothing happened when you think is going to work never does no update for the software nothing is frustrating so im canceling my subscription

Response from developer

Dear Customer, sorry for the inconvenience caused, since there is an compatibility issue in iPhone 12 later iPhone, we recommend using a USB hub between the vehicle and the USB cable, which can make connection more stable. (The vehicle => USB hub => USB cable => smartphone) If you have any other problems please contact us through the email address (aoem.service@garmin.com), thank you!

I tried to be patient…

Hey developers, have you ever tried using this kind of application yourself? First of all, the wireless connection is almost not working. Second, I used a cable to fix the issue, but it worked a few minutes after the connection error. I have to close the application on my phone and try again. In a few minutes, the same. It's a junk app, a product of the lowest quality I've ever seen, and it's the biggest disappointment.

Ok, today I decided to start over, and give another chance. My friend sent me address in message, which I easily can click and open in any map or navigation except Garmin.
Well, sometime happening…, maybe it is to complicated. I think what else I copy address and paste in address field!? Guess what happened?????
You are right, nothing, it is impossible!!

Tell why! Tell us how in 2024 you could develop such junky app?!?! Maybe it is the time to change something?

Actually works.

I have a Garmin Zumo XT.

And this is exactly as that. (Familiar feel to it)

For it to work first time this is what I did.
On my 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ and iPhone 15 pro max.

1. Connect phone Bluetooth to the Bike. Bike Bluetooth can be accessed from App- settings.
2. Open My Ride Link app on phone and add the bike again (Bluetooth.). You will need to click the My ride link section in settings of bike. ( follow on bike instructions) Can be accessed via App-settings-connections.
3. In App- Settings of Bike. Connect to bike WiFi hotspot. This has to be done only once. Make sure in your WiFi settings on the phone you select auto connect. Sometimes even if you enter the right password it says wrong password entered. Just click cancel and click join. It will connect.
4. On My Ride Link app click Garmin Motorize at the bottom.
5. It will ask you to download Garmin Motorize app.
6. Download the app.
7. Open it follow on screen instructions, select subscription and the. You get message “Connect to bike via usb cable to validate/authorise”
8. Make sure you use a good quality data cable. A cheap one will not work as most cheap ones are just charging cable and not data transfer cable.
9. Once cable connected. App immediately recognises the device and the app is activated.
10. Cable can now be disconnected. You only need to use it once.
11. Long press the home button and the maps open.

Remember the Bluetooth module on the bike starts quickly but the WiFi module takes couple of minutes.

So far worked flawlessly.

It’s £550 for the Zumo XT2. And £33 per year for this app. I think it’s a good deal.

Terrible App

The app is probably the worst I’ve seen from a major company. Whose kid wrote this? Can’t even download a map. Come on Garmin, do you want to make money or not?
