My Genesis App

I absolutely love the way Genesis keeps me informed whenever my car is unlocked. I love the Genesis app!

Ok App-Too many notifications

Revised review. Finally got things working. It is an ok app. Way too many notifications that I have to clear.

Great….but

4/5 for me and that’s only because the remote start feature isn’t even an option. I have the subscription to have that feature but why isn’t it even an option on the app? Is that a fluke or has it been removed? If it wasn’t for that it would be a 5/5.

Added iPhone location service turned on

In one of the recent releases Genesis added the requirement that to access the app I have my phone’s location services turned on. What difference does it make where my phone is if I want to used the app features? I could be doing something for another person driving my car. It is none of Genesis business where I am located.

I called their support number for another issue and mentioned that the location service requirement needs to be turned off.

Problem with entry

At times when I walk up to the door it stays locked. It is very irritating.

Recent location services requirement

A recent update in the last couple months changed the app to require location services. There is no obvious reason for this requirement, and the release notes do not mention the change. This suggests it was either an error by the development team, or the location services are being used for data collection rather than legitimate purposes. In any case, I do not enable location services except when necessary, and it is too many steps to enable them just to remote start my car from the app. Therefore the app has become unusable for me in most scenarios.

The only disappointment with owning a Genesis

Owning my 2026 GV 80 has been a joy, tempered only by how poor the app is compared to the Tesla that I recently (gladly) sold.
Your app is terrible. There is no option to exclude areas, like your locked garage, from sending you notifications that your door is unlocked.
It is inconsistent with opening the door. I stood outside a locked car door for almost 15 minutes recently when the car wouldn’t connect to my phone. (That was the last time I left home without my key!!
This never happened with the Tesla.
Surprised a car this good has an app this bad

Can't Use With Location Services Turned On

Whatever you're collecting, Genesis, you don't need it. Can't even open the app without enabling location services? I'm cancelling my Connected Services 👎

Devs, I'm not going to call Genesis Customer Care for this. It's a developer issue, not a customer service issue, and a solution is simple: turn off the location requirement. I'm not going to let you have location access to use your app. Not sure when you changed the app to require it, but change it back. It's invasive and unnecessary, and I'm not paying for a service that won't even let me open the app without enabling location services. You must be out of your minds.

My new Genesis GV70

I love my new 2026 and I love this app. It tells me everything I need to know about my car. Oh and did I tell you it’s a smart car too lol.🥰😍

More options

In a luxury app, having options like rolling down windows, changing radio stations should be a given. As for the app itself, it would be nice to know all the details with driving, breaking, hard stops, etc as to know how to continue to keep the vehicle running at its premium. There are more features I would recommend but will reserve it for a later day and time.

♥️

I really love my GV80

The unlocking is impossible

I am so frustrated by using my phone to unlock the car. I have to stand there multiple times to get it to unlock.

Maintenance Falls Short

I really like most of the app but the browser they use in iOS doesn’t fully support the Service functionality. So I’m often stuck not able to schedule service (or submit a support ticket) through the app . It also didn’t log my last service with the dealer—so it just keeps showing an annoying, red “issue” notification. Also don’t understand why the service portal doesn’t allow me to select valet service at all, to indicate I want it. I always have to call the dealer to setup pickup and reschedule to fit their times. 🤦🏻‍♂️
