App problems

The app worked fine at first, now it shuts down when ever trying to use it. At this time the app is useless and unable to use.

It works

The basic functions are fine, streaming my phone and podcasts to my hearing aids.

The problem that I have is many times when ending a phone call the genius link disconnects from my phone and I have to restart the Bluetooth connection and if walk out of range and then back many times I have to reconnect the Bluetooth again manually and it does disconnect now and then for apparently no reason this can be frustrating when I have to put a call on speaker while I reconnect the Bluetooth.

If they could improve the Bluetooth connectivity I could give it a higher rating.

Genius link and music player

Would not recommend this to anyone.
Music player turns on intermittently and there is no way to shut it down.

GENIUSlink

GENIUSlink no longer works, app hasn’t been updated for years and won’t work with the new iPhones.
The app needs updated!

Bluetooth connectivity problems with iPhone products

Bluetooth will not stay connected to my or my wife’s iPhones, or my iPad Pro Renders this product useless.

Connection problems

Will not stay connected to iPhone 7+. Tried two different iPhone 7+ same problem. Not worth the money.

Terry Porter

Can’t keep it connected

Needs more

I appreciate the ability to stream to my hearing aids. But this app is very basic. That is what earned it a three star rating. The application itself is very lackluster. Switching programs, changing volume and adjusting bass or treble is all very basic. How about adding the ability to control other frequencies like mid tones, static noise, or hi pitch tones? What about other Presets that can be controlled by the ap instead of having to make an appointment for a new program? These are things that other apps and devices already offer. Would also like to see an Apple Watch app that allows me to mute, adjust volume or switch programs.

Nice app

Over all it’s a handy app. Would like to see apple watch app. Only negative I have noticed is when phone is connected to Bluetooth I am unable to change volume on hearing aids.

Fantastic!

Finally I can go about my life in a comfortable way!! Love the sound clarity, the programs, the links, the charger, how it works with my Iphone and Ipad, reliability and easy instructions! Works just like a modern hearing aid in a modern life should. I am female 69 years old.

Bluetooth Connection

I really like the app. The problem though is with the Bluetooth connection. It’s constantly disconnecting and reconnecting which is very frustrating when you hear the connecting Bluetooth beeps all day with your hearing aids

Good app

The app is good for general purposes. I wish it had a feature where you could control the volume of each earpiece independently. My other hearing aids have that. Also, the bass to treble control seems to have no effect.

Remote & streaming problem

App needs a great deal of work for prime time. It makes you think that you are not sinking, when indeed you are. It drops you out of Remote & streaming for no apparent reason. This is a big problem.
Connecting to Bluetooth devices is not easy. Sometimes hit or miss on iPhone 6P.
If u answer iPhone using phone. U r dropped out of remote. This should not happen.
07/2017 got an iPhone 7P. It does not reset Bluetooth Roaming and Streaming went turned on. Often must use Setup to relink all components. While this may be an Apple problem, you can advise of issue. When talking to Apple it would be nice to be able to put remote & streamer options on page 1 when swiped from bottom of screen.

02/10/2018 same problems as above and often on setup it is necessary to reboot iPhone since it can’t recognize that it is connected. Namely remote & streamer connected & pressing neck button changes program without a problem.

Please Improve

I've been working with my hearing aid specialist to get this app to work so I can take conference calls and hear in important meetings. The app does nothing but crash, does not connect properly, I would say this has been the worst app I've ever experienced. After spending $7000 on aids you would thing you would get a working product. This is truly let down and I will not recommend it. I'm considering leaving miracle ear for alternatives if this is not fixed.

More than glitchy

I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot the connection problems between all of these elements. Ridiculously time consuming and nothing ever works the same. Very frustrated that I have to waste time to get everything to link together. When you spend so much money on technology, at least you hope it will work. This does not.

glitchy

This is the second time I've updated my original review and this time I've dropped my rating from four stars to two. Phonecalls are a disaster with the device switching volume and jumping from "in call" to "streaming media" and "music player" and back making it necessary to switch to speaker or normal phone mode (putting it to your ear). All this causes you to constantly have to ask people to repeat themselves. Very frustrating for me AND the caller. Programs change randomly, disconnect and reconnect and volume will not stay where I put it; sometimes staying for 15 seconds and other times 15 minutes. They gave me a new device and hearing aids 2 months ago thinking that would solve these issues but still the same. I even paired with my wife's Android phone to eliminate the possibility that my iPhone is the problem but the issue is the same. If you read the rest of the reviews you're going to see many similar stories. Miracle Ear does not appear to care because these problems span a couple of years and they still have not issued a fix. I was at my local M.E. office today about this. They updated the app (not something you can do yourself). I knew before I left the parking lot that nothing had changed. I have another appointment tomorrow but I don't think they're going to do anything other than send the link and aids back AGAIN! Below are my earlier reviews:

Update on my review of two months ago as posted below: I stand by much of what I wrote; There are several glitches in this app that still need to be addressed. To my knowledge there has been no update addressing these. Do not bother with the customer service link. Go directly to your hearing aid provider and they'll get a tech on the phone for you. In spite of a few minor, although frustrating, flaws I'm still excited about this apps capabilities. After talking to many users of other similar products I've come to realize that this system is the best available and have no regrets about having invested in it. Below is my original review of 2 months ago. ....................Thrilled about being able to pair my hearing aids to my iPhone via Bluetooth but the app seems to have a few bugs that need to be addressed. For example, whenever I open the app to make an adjustment it tells me it cannot find the hearing aids even though everything is working properly otherwise. It also treats every notification sound as a streaming audio and instead of the notification sounds I get the tone that indicates the devices are switching programs about 90% of the time. I emailed their customer service via their help/contact link a week ago but no one got back to me. All in all I would recommend the GENIUSlink app and device to anyone wearing hearing aids but I'm one of those people that wants things to work exactly as their supposed to rather than good enough or "better than nothing". This isn't a cheap option; make it work properly.

10 years of buy the high end aids. Bluetooth has always sucked!

I have been using app since it came out, one of the first to buy. App Works great when it works. I believe the problem is not the app but the Bluetooth. The connection is not very strong and I believe they are using old Bluetooth technology. If you turn your body connection can be lost and when the Bluetooth reconnects your settings will change. If you are watching TV and using the Bluetooth connection, turning your body will loose the connection and you will have to reconnect. Modern Bluetooth connection would not be lost by walking away or turning your body. This is why I rated this app a 3, because it is a great app as long as the Bluetooth connection is working.

App has problems

When the app works it's great however it stops functioning without warning and sometimes changes settings by itself. Then becomes a hassle to resync. Shut everything off and start over.

Poor connection

When this app works. It is great. I keep losing Bluetooth connection

Link

Hearing aids are great but this is my second link and it keeps turning my hearing aids off on. Frustrating.
