Timing

There timing is bad still. I have to watch close to see that I’m getting better.

Beautiful app, not my learning style

The app is beautifully crafted. It could be fun. For me it’s a game and is not really teaching me how to play guitar. It’s teaching me to hit the dots.
I’m sure this works for some. It’s just not my style of learning. I understand gamification and how it keeps you engaged.
The notation that the app teaches is not used anywhere outside the app. In that regard you’re stuck in the Gibson guitar app universe. It doesn’t teach Tab. I don’t recall seeing chord diagrams.
I didn’t get the feel that I was learning about time, rhythm, just visual learning of hitting dots. I didn’t understand how what they were teaching for a song. was really teaching the song.
It’s a top notch app and I’m sure it’s great for most people. I wanted to like it and even bought the songs. It’s not for me.

Long winded

While the instruction is good it is a little to long winded in the instruction by the instructors.

Trash! 🚮

Just wasted $20! They tell you that you can play songs but it costs an extra $5 to play anything you like. YOUTUBE tutorials are free. There’s literally no need for this app. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Decent Instructional Tool, but Don't Trust the Audio Engine

Pros: The lesson layout, visual tracks, and bite-sized progressions are well-structured for building muscle memory and learning song patterns.

Cons: The built-in audio pitch detection is unreliable. Even in a silent room after a sound check, the app consistently flags correct notes as "too high," "too low," or off-tempo. Testing this confirmed the system frequently misreads input, sometimes auto-advancing on phantom frequencies while the instrument is completely quiet.

Verdict: Worth checking out for the visual lesson layouts if you catch a free trial, but the buggy mic tracking and high subscription cost make it hard to recommend for long-term daily practice. Trust your physical tuner and your own ears over the app's pitch tracker.
