The plan and the price are shown before you confirm, auto renewal is part of the terms you agree to at that point, and the payment is verified at the time of purchase. Nothing starts quietly in the background, and you can cancel at any time from your account settings. Pretty good highlighting app
Only problem is that it is sometimes buggy and can’t highlight certain words or combinations of words on iOS and iPadOS
