Expensive

Not knowing how effective this app would be I think it is upfront expensive. It is hard to ascertain the value without a few days experimentation with the features of the app.

Ameliorations

Search Function

The recipe section is great except for the lack of a search function. I don’t have the time to scroll looking for a dish containing pumpkin, I.E. Pumpkin Soup.

Does not customize well

I’ve struggled to make entries. It’s not very intuitive. The search database seems fairly limited. I keep coming up with foods that aren’t in it and having to choose a close approximation.

Tried Promo

Ended up with a $59.00 charge.

What’s the point?

This app mostly contains GI and Gl values from the charts that are all over the internet.

It asks you to provide the GL/ GI data for anything not In its very limited database. I have no way of knowing what those are

Great

This a great way to learn the GI and the GL of foods. It helps me maintain my weight.

Wasted Money

App is limited to very basic entries. Most foods you will have to manually enter all macros and hope it is relatively close to a correct outcome. In my honest opinion do not waste your money on this app.

Hard to use

I am having trouble using it. I would like to add recipes but it doesn’t save them.

Disappointed

It doesn’t have the name brands I have searched. ie- Pure Protein Chewy Chocolate Chip.
What it listed for nutritional information was completely wrong. I tried to send feedback but it wouldn’t go through. Try again! Still didn’t work.
I see no place to contact directly!
I would like my money back !

Application

Dr. Farid Balaa

The website has food list GI information, have not been able to find it in the purchased version. All my cooking is Mediterranean, would try a few suggestions, most recipes do not match taste. Are way off base with my food palette. Need the lists of foods as displayed on website https://glycemic-index.net. Farid Balaa Ph.D / Food Scientist.

Don’t subscribe

At sign up, questions are tricky and you think you are saying no, then realize you signed up for stuff you don’t want. Then canceling is not honored. I am still trying to stop monthly bill. I don’t use the app because it is not any good, but afraid to delete until the charge stops.

Basisfunktion

Response from developer

Not so good

Am finding it hard to find what i need - i don’t find it intuitive at all

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback, Duffergirl. We’re sorry to hear that the app didn’t feel intuitive to you. We’re continuously working on improving navigation and making it easier to find the information you need. If you have specific examples of what was difficult to find or confusing, we’d really appreciate you sharing them — that kind of feedback helps us improve the experience for everyone.

Not Free

Program is not free. List of foods is very incomplete. Suggestions in many recipes use not so healthy choices like grape oil. I would not advise paying for this app!

Werbung Website falsch

Response from developer

Wishing I Knew Then What I Know Now

Very user unfriendly

Many foods but stingy & overpriced

The database has more in it than it appears at first glance. Don’t rely on the populated list when typing in your food to indicate if it is in there. For example, when I typed in coconut, looking for coconut water, only coconut populated, and then the list cleared when I proceeded to type water, but I hit search and coconut water came up. That said, measurements are in grams and everything in the US is ounces. I am annoyed that glycemic load is locked. That should be included in the base version, as should the values on foods. The developer said in other reviews that this app contains the same info as the website, but with more features, yet there is no search on the website and coconut water isn’t listed, so that assertion is false. I will not pay the high one-time fee to upgrade to pro for full access. $5 would be reasonable for what it offers.

Response from developer

Thank you for your detailed feedback. You are correct that search results may not always appear immediately in the dropdown while typing. The full result often appears after pressing search. We are working to improve the predictive search to make it more intuitive. Measurements are shown in grams because glycemic index and glycemic load values are standardized in scientific research using metric units. We understand that many US users prefer ounces, and we are considering adding additional unit options in the future. Glycemic load is included in the premium version because it requires additional calculations and features beyond the basic GI reference database provided in the free version. Regarding the website, it contains core items and general information. The app database includes many additional entries and structured data beyond what is available on the site. While we appreciate your input on pricing, we set our pricing to cover ongoing development, data expansion, research verification, and long-term support. We aim to provide reliable, evidence-based information and continuous improvements. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Product Reviews

The app doesn’t provide a list of low GLycemic products available in the supermarket. I asked for the rating of Post Shredded Wheat n Bran. I got no response. I found answers to every question on Google.
