Siri Shortcuts

2-3 times a day I get a shortcut message from Siri reminding me to use the translate camera, despite my removing ALL Siri Shortcuts and clearing Translate via settings each time I still get them.

Nightmare UI

Honestly cannot imagine a more nightmarish user experience. The GUI just keeps changing as you use it. It’s like having to learn to use six different apps, any one of which could manifest on the screen at any moment.

Good

Its really helpful

wrong writing?

I had translated my language english to vietnamese and (did thats not my problem if you don’t like it) it translated to something different FIX IT

Not accurate

I speak French, but needed help with some words. Not syntax grammar etc. I typed in a phrase and it completely changed my original text. Adding words I did not write. It’s suppose to translate and not paraphrase or rewrite. Hence the name Google Translate not google editor 😵‍💫👎

Bring Gemini to this App

It’s very nonsensical nowadays translate word by word!

Stop deleting downloaded languages

Once again, google deleted or invalidated my downloaded languages in favor of me updating them which left me with no translation available in another country with terrible reception. Terrible choices reflecting on a bad company.

Terrible Japanese translation

Stop removing the laughing emoji and replacing it with this character when translating “(笑)” if we clearly typed a laughing emoji that means we want to keep it

Can you not automatically close the microphone? I can’t even finish the damn sentences

The future

You should just fuse this app with Gemini now and update Gboard with AI

Excellent written. Very poor transcription

It does quite a good job translating written material from a camera or if you write down what you want.

However when it comes to translating the spoken word, particularly in transcription or ongoing conversations it’s mostly rubbish. Even if the speaker is right on top of it, the results are random.

Used for the other areas it’s quite good, but use good complete sentences not shorthand phrases.

UI for Downloads

Please remove the selection interface for downloading or removing downloaded languages to another screen besides the main interface, because being prompted to routinely to delete for selecting the language I want to translate is unbelievably dumb.

Pronunciation recognition

It can’t recognize the pronunciation what word words world.

Argentina Spanish

I recently moved from Texas to Argentina. Google Translate frequently gets the translation completely wrong. Argentine Spanish is different from any other Spanish. Please create translation mode for Argentina!

This is a prejudicial system

They won’t even translate the name of God into Hebrew. Not Yahweh. They’ll give you Elohim, they’ll give you Muhammad or Buddha but not Yahweh. Explain that one, devs

Cuts off mid sentence

This used to be a good app. But lately, it’s become more of an aggravating experience!!
