No magazines available since December 2024 despite subscription
I have been a subscriber via the App Store for many years. My last 12 month subscription began in June 2024 but there have been no editions since December. Effectively meaning that I have only received half of my paid for product

Seriously buggy
Running this on and iPad Pro and it is horrendous. Constant network error pop ups that can’t be dismissed, poor scrolling performance.

Subscribed in February 2018, STILL HAVEN’T RECEIVED LOGIN DETAILS AFTER 10 MONTHS! Contacted Media 10 every week to enquire about when I will receive login details, THEY DON’T CARE! APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE
Grand Interactive Magazine
You're offering 'Grand Design Interactive Magazine' for free but you won't let me view this unless I buy a subscription. Why ???
No Grand Design
I tried the interactive version then gave up and went to the ordinary digital edition of the magazine. Still jerky page turning and, even more infuriating, you don't get any of the supplements throughout the year that print users get. I have tried to email the magazine about this on several occasions but they don't bother replying. Such arrogance. I won't be renewing.

Horrible
The app crashes, doesn't show all purchased issues, and the ads aggressively pop up and unable turn pages. I will cancel my subscription.
Dreadful
I love the Grand Designs programme and magazine and have used this app for quite a while. The recent update has made it almost unusable. I have struggled to read the latest edition without it crashing or freezing. The adverts are "jumpy" and refuse to turn the page. I am seriously thinking of claiming my subscription back as the app at this present time doesn't work!

Unreliable and awkward to use
The free sample crashes the app when it it tries to download it. Navigation through the paid content is cumbersome.

Rubbish
I'm a subscriber to GDM - old fashioned paper format. Downloaded app - unable to download any of the issues (free, paid, current, back, etc). Pointless app.

Can't even download a first paid magazine. It's been going 2hrs on a 100mbit fully working, tested connection. What utter rubbish.
Uses separate subscription to the iPad app
So you pay for the iPad app and can no longer read on the iPhone. Stick with the old app
Fantastic, the reason I have an iPad
Great work on the app. Really enjoyed reading the magazine and all the cool interactive stuff. My favourite bit is the theme tune on the front cover. Thanks Media 10 for sorting out my subscription. Will keep the print on the coffee table but I am a digital convert.

As a newbie to reading mags on tablet, really impressed with this- always loved the imagery in the mag but looks stunning in this format
Great app, easy to use
A brilliant app, easy to use, clear navigation and some nice features. I particularly like the 360 degree room tour - makes the rooms viewable from all angles - it's as if you're actually standing in the room. Really brings my favourite mag to life... A very happy subscriber!

Dear oh dear
Where do I start. I suppose I can say that clearly a lot of effort has gone into this app but you have to wonder if there was much thought. All I'll highlight here though is that firstly it won't work in landscape which given most iPad keyboards/holders keep your iPad in this position it's a complete pain to hold your device upright the whole time (this is such a basic that I feel sure I'm missing something) and secondly did no one think that if you completely jam every space with links and jumps on a touch screen device that it becomes very cumbersome to navigate as often when you touch the screen it assumes you want to jump to Safari or to page 176 when you're on page 7. Finally, much of the useful information REQUIRES you to tap a link (floorplans and other useful content) meaning that the entire rest of interactive content anywhere where developers are trying to minimise clicks to relevant content, Grand Designs thinks that increasing clicks is where the world should be heading. Basically, if it's useful show it, don't make me go find it. I don't like it and like all the worst updates makes you want to go back to the last version.
Having said all that the developers clearly know how to build something, it's just over-engineering for the sake of it. Shame.

Grand Designs - Not So Grand
Brought a year's subscription only three issues downloaded. The last issue froze when trying to read it or completely shut down. Tried to contact someone anyone to get my May issue, email returned, passed from pillar to post by Media 10 when I rang them and still waiting for someone to call me back. The subscription line said it had nothing to do with them as it was the interactive version. Apple support website was useless just kept on going around in circles.

Poor, expensive, pointless
Very poor app... sluggish, unresponsive, awkward navigation... not a very grand design. I can't remember how much I pay for the Newsstand edition per annum, but it's not £30ish - something tells me it's nearer a tenner. Talking of which, why is this a standalone app, not on the Newsstand? What's going to happen to the Newsstand edition now?
Fix the navigation, halve the price and put it on the newsstand, and I'll think about switching to the interactive edition. Fail to do that and drop the Newsstand edition and you've lost a customer.

Very poor
The new bells and whistles (panoramas etc) are fine, but the reason people subscribe is to READ the magazine. Reading is painful because text is blocky and low resolution on any ipad with a retina display. Why go to the effort of relaunching with such a half-baked effort?
None of the other magazines I subscribe to look this ugly; disappointing that Grand Designs couldn't do better.
