Content good. App is sub par
This would be at least 4 stars if it made ANY attempt at all to save my progress. Which it does not. I like these puzzles but generally enjoy solving them just once.
Does not work
Screen is mostly unresponsive, had to quit and restart multiple times for it to allow me to sign in. I’d hoped it was included with my Guardian subscription but apparently not. How much does it cost? This info is apparently on a need to know basis — can’t find the costs in the app or in the App Store. Anyhow I never could get any puzzles to open so I don’t know if it’s any good. Deleting.

Great puzzle archive, but crashes all the time
When it’s working, I really enjoy this app - vast collection of puzzles to choose from and some nice features for those of us who need a little hint now and again. Unfortunately, the app freezes often. I have to force quit and restart all the time. I’ve been using it on an iPhone 7 - admittedly, older tech - but other apps on my phone don’t freeze and crash like this.
I’d really like to support The Guardian by purchasing a subscription for the puzzles, but I’m just not sure if I can justify the cost given how often the app crashes.

App not working
Just got a brand new iPad mini 6. Downloaded this app. The list of crosswords showed fine, but when I tapped on a crossword all that came up was a completely blank screen. Uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, nothing. I hope they can fix this soon.
Works Great
Works like a charm for me. I don’t have any of the problems cited in other reviews. All the Guardian puzzles are available and the puzzle navigation is smooth, unlike when I try to do the Times puzzles in their app.

Unusable
It freezes each time I open it, so can’t even play. Not ready for public consumption. I look forward to it when it is.

Hi, I very much hope this isn't still a problem in version 1.2.1 but please can you get in touch via the "Contact us" menu in the app if you continue to have problems?

Doesn’t remember settings
The app doesn’t remember any settings you select to do things like turn off the timer; you have to re-do it every time you open the app back up which is super annoying.
Wonderful archive
Great app! There are so many games available in this archive and the app works flawlessly and smoothly.
