Predatory forceful app
Have no storage space? Want a job? TOO BAD. Handshake believes forcing customers to a horrible app is better then letting them choose for themselves. Disgusting tactics. Their ai bs is also horrid and makes me happy to never even use the site again.
Next opportunity lives here!
I absolutely love this app! 🤩 It feels so much more welcoming and encouraging than Indeed and the other career apps I’ve used. Instead of feeling like just another application, it actually makes the job search feel exciting and gives me hope. Definitely one of the best career apps I’ve come across!

No telephone code for India in app to register
I got Instagram add from this app and I registered, but while trying to sign in to the app, country calling codes does not have +91 for India. Now I can’t even continue in it.
Loggin in
The app itself has no Indian universities neither indian country code available to log in.
Scam
This is not what it appears to be. This is a legit scam. They ask for all kinds of PII, set you up, and what’s “offered” is no guaranteed.
Location limited
I notice they don’t have my state including my field on here and it doesn’t send a message to let you know if your application was sent or just to keep track of the applied jobs.
Great!
It is simple to use and easy to understand. It is also promoted at my university, Oakland (Michigan). While I have not yet managed to secure a job via it yet (currently working at a different job), I do believe I’ll be able to in due time.
FAKE JOBS
Lots of remote jobs are just fake
Scam
Offers you lots of money for simple tasks, but requires you to agree to their terms every time. There is no way to agree to the terms. Fake fake fake.
Should not need app to browse basic features
App requires download for basic functionality including browsing jobs or any search features. Disappointing. Let people decide if they want more bloatware or not.
A lot of scam jobs
This app has a lot of fake jobs and I no longer trust this app at all!!
Handshake, now Scamshake
Once a reputable job board, but it’s now been inundated with fraudulent postings that appear back-to-back without safeguards. A better vetting process is needed to make the platform usable again, especially for new grads trying to navigate an already circuitous job market.
Hard to identify scams
Too many scams now so you don’t know which is which. Wish they had a better diligence process. Used to think handshake was the safe and superior option compared to others but not anymore.
Awesome
Best and easiest way to apply for jobs
Give it a try
Great jobs found here. Put yourself out there!
USELESS app
This is the most useless app I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. I don’t know anyone who’s ever gotten a job from Handshake; using LinkedIn or even just periodically checking your target companies’ Careers webpages will be a more effective way to discover and apply for opportunities. Anything that can be found on Handshake can be found in either of those places presented in a much nicer format, and surrounded by much fewer scam job postings. Additionally, the feed “feature” that Handshake added in an attempt to make their app scroll-worthy only feels depressing because EVERY SINGLE POST is just other unemployed people asking “so how do I get a job? Do you have a job for me? Does anyone have any tips?” Employers don’t post on Handshake because who on Earth cares about posting on Handshake. They have better things to do. All of the posts are from the other young grads you’re competing with, which really just helps you grasp how bleak the job market is. And it doesn’t even show you posts from people relevant to you; I’ve NEVER seen a Handshake post from someone even in my state, much less at my specific university. It’s all a bunch of randos from Florida and Texas, people who I’m sure are great but are very distant from where I am. If you want the job search to feel statistically hopeless and logistically convoluted, use Handshake. If you want a good experience, use literally any other app.

App won’t verify me
The app won’t verify me no matter what I do, and support doesn’t help. They just tell you to try again. They have no alternative to manually verify someone in the event their system is garbage and doesn’t work properly.
Company just wants to exploit you
This company is literally the bad guy from the grapes of wrath. They advertise plenty of AI training work and high wages, then release maybe 100 tasks despite onboarding 1000 people. Kinda defeats the purpose of $50/hr if you can work max a half hour
Amazing
I love it
Could be improved
I love the app but there are way too many fake job postings.
