Good idea but listeners talk too much
In theory, this app is an amazing idea. But it seems that they hire people in the psychology, or life coach field. So when you called to vent and just for an ear to get things off your chest these supposed listeners can’t help but talking and providing feedback. They even go into their own stories. It’s such a let down. I have spoken with mini listeners on this app and it’s all the same. They can’t just listen. They have to go off, and give you advice, talk about themselves, etc.. they might want to think about hiring normal people and teaching them how to just validate someone and listen instead of professionals, who apparently can’t hold back providing feedback and advice. I can call any of my friends or family if I want someone to start talking about themselves instead of listening.

Lola caused me to feel suicidal
Naturally I was interested in this app because I’ve been having a difficult time lately and therapy hasn’t been helpful. I was surprised that when I started speaking with Lola that she felt entitled to dictate the narrative of the call by refusing to respond to me asking how her day was because according to her the call was supposed to only be about me. This was rude and defensive. Therapist typically act this way because of their profession but to have regular person act this was traumatic. I’d also like to note how this isn’t a policy of the app for listeners to act this way since yesterday another listener acted completely opposite and shared with me they were molested. There seems to be no happy (pun intended) medium on this app, either people revealing too much info and being creepy or people wanting to dictate the entire call and refusing to have a two way conversation. This app is not a safe space. There are no safe spaces in this world, only people who try to control things and judge. Wouldn’t use this app again even if they paid me. 9:02 pm After hours of not being able to have someone listen I hurt myself. Now you can’t hurt me.

Having to pay for a certain amount of messages and calls
Honestly, I’m disappointed but not surprised that this is another app that requires you to pay to get help. Profiting off of people that just want some help. I happened to look at my settings, and saw that for free, I get 15 minutes for a call, and 3 messages. If you’re someone like me who sends multiple messages for an explanation though, that’s very inconvenient. So much for finding an app that I thought could help me.

My go to for support
Hapi is my go to place for my number one support. When I had lost my dog, my listener was the best, at empathizing with me and just letting me cry with her. I cannot recommend Hapi enough!
