HappyCow makes it possible to thrive as a vegan traveler. I use it all the time and it’s such a fantastic addition to my life—it’s honestly the biggest reason I don’t get a “dumb” phone!
Would be 5 stars if I could give 5 stars
App would be so much better if I could give non vegetarian/vegan exclusive restaurants 5 stars.
Sad vegan
While I find this app useful as a longtime vegan to find restaurants, especially in unfamiliar areas. I realize that they only allow a 4 star max rating review to restaurants that are not 100% vegetarian or vegan. Most of the restaurants that I frequent offer vegan options, but certainly aren’t 100%. That said, I have time and time again glossed over restaurants due to their lower rating. I recently ate the best meal ever at Nanyea Ethiopian in a conservative white town thanks to a second opinion from Google. As I spoke with the owner, she struggles to get customers through the door, but once they do, they are lifers. I am now too! However, I almost missed this opportunity because of the weighted lower rating from a handful of customers. Not only is this a disservice to those of us that eat within this framework, but it hurts small business owners, especially those that already have a disadvantage.

They removed countries visited
Bet there’s been a decline in use now and people won’t bother updating their travel food. What a stupid marketing mistake from this company.

Necessity when travelling
I have been travelling in Canada and would be lost without HappyCow, especially in Quebec and Montreal.

Meat everywhere
This is a pitiful selection of restaurants that serve mostly meat but have a $12 boring salad at the bottom of the menu. Worthless to me.

The best. The only. If you’re a veggie or a vegan or if you’re trying to find somewhere to eat with your veggie or vegan friends there is simply no better app to use.

Still loved by Vegetarians …. I miss posting pictures , especially internationally as they are vegetarian dishes and not vegan but I understand the commitment and am proud of everyone . Love having my own place to look it up ….. Go Happy Cow 🆒
No support
Very unhappy that I’ve had no support when logging in. Keep changing the password and I’m still not able to have full access to the app. Will be asking for my money back if I’m not ignored.
Closed restaurants and overcharged
The App Store indicated the app was 4.99, fine, but then I was charged over $38, WTAF. I started using it and one of the first restaurants on the list has been closed for years with another restaurant in its place, so I’m assuming at least in my area this is useless. What a rip off
