Amazing concept but unforgiving.
I use a lot of textured in my art and was otherwise thrilled to use heavy paint! Unfortunately, the severe amount of bugs make this app incredibly difficult to work with. Artwork corrupts easily and messes up whole sections, undo button doesn’t work properly and instead of undoing the previous stroke, it removes the strokes prior. The entirety of the canvas corrupts far too easily and I ended up losing an entire artwork that is stuck on a boot loop of the app attempting to fix the corruption and reopening the file over and over. I do love the brushes and the rainbow scale, but this app is genuinely high risk, low reward. I had really high hopes and unfortunately they were crushed. QOL updates are desperately needed, I really want to use this app, but unfortunately it’s just really not worth the all the cortisol

i redownloaded this app just a few minutes ago because i missed the painting tools it had and theres a HUGE problem. i like to chicken scratch/go over one spot multiple times in my drawings and that for some reason activates the color picker?? and its so aggressive im like fighting with it the whole time and not only that but when i DEACTIVATE it it undoes my most recent line when i go to draw another or just completely obliterates my drawing. please please please fix it i really like the brushes but this is terrible

my favourite painting app but too buggy
I love this up so much! there's something about the randomness that adds a much more natural feeling to painting. I really love how customisable the UI is, shrinking it down and making it as minimal as possible om ipad mini is great.
unfortunately i cant recommend it until it receives a lot of bug fixes. I am constantly losing hours of progress due to random bugs that will wipe my layers or recent painting, and countless other little bugs that make it a frustrating experience. hoping for fixes soon.

Lost progress
I had a lot of fun in this app until it decided to delete all my work when i tried to see the timelapse im really mad and dissapointed, not buying if it keeps having this issues ( even the autosaves were deleted)
Awesome app, small bugs
Great update with many new features. The brushes are still awesome. It’s a unique and worthwhile experience from a one time payment! That’s getting rarer and rarer. My only wish is that the timelapse feature would work. Only seems to load a black canvas so far… Otherwise so far, no major app breaking issues. Would recommend people to try it out!

Great painting concepts, unusable app
This was clearly made with love by someone who actually understands painting. Very unique features. I lost all of my work on a painting due to a software bug. I would give it 5 stars but the amount of bugs is shocking for a paid app. Can’t export or import projects. Can’t import reference images. Even just freezes up during normal use

Was good now completely unusable
With the last update I can use the software at all it just try’s to idrop constantly so it keeps ruining my color selection and brush, and there no way to turn it off. Just have it as a setting. please this was my favorite drawing software
many technical issues :/
the colour jitter is nice but using the app has been a nightmare. maybe it’s just not optimized for ipad but first it crashed and lost my canvases, after redownloading it started just deleting individual layers instead (usually the ones with the most rendering on them). not to mention while i’m painting, every time i switch to another app for a few seconds and come back, the app is unresponsive and i have to restart it. overall just a frustrating experience. its a shame, because i would have enjoyed it otherwise

Love this app
This app is a very streamlined and analog feeling design. I love the uniqueness of the tools/brushes that you get compared to other painting apps. So good for plein airs and painting studies. There are some bugs but the support system for reporting and fixing bugs feels very direct and responsive. Overall I love it.

A lot of bugs, this new app works really bad
I bought this app but I can’t enjoy drawing because brushes / interface always lagging. Don’t recommend to purchase this app, classic version works better.
A great app gone wrong
This used to be my favorite app, but the developer is all over the place. He has three different versions of this app combined into one, and he's working on all of them at the same time... and they're all broken.
Paid for heavypaint classic, then locked out and forced to subscribe
I want to love the application, but resent i paid for an application i can no longer effectively use without a subscription. I cannot in good faith give a positive review for this alone.
Neat, but janky
I want to love this app, but I’ve never had a trouble-free session. Something always ends up corrupted, lost, pixelated, etc. I’m randomly logged out in the middle of creating, my pro purchase isn’t recognized, the in-app option to manage purchases only mentions subscriptions… I know this was made by artists, but it really needs some technical polish to even approach the usability of other apps. I’ve spent dozens of hours in HEAVYPAINT with essentially noting to show for it, because everything I’ve made has gotten screwed up by the program somehow.

EDIT: App works flawlessly now! I’ve tried procreate, art studio pro, photoshop, krita, and paint tool sai, this app feels the best to paint in.

Horrible lagging, cute textured brushes
Gallery function is basically unusable, constant glitches don’t let me access my previous works which is extremely upsetting. Undo often takes several tries to activate. Brush assortment is good

Sync with your own cloud
I want to use this and am not wanting to pay a subscription to sync files. Let me set my own cloud accounts for syncing. Don’t charge me every month for this feature. Or simply make it easier to save and open files again from different locations. I could care less if the video playback is there or not.
