What's New in HIIT Workouts
1.2
June 22, 2026
The iPhone and Apple Watch are now equal partners. Start, pause, resume, or end a session from either device and the other follows the same countdown in real time — the watch still records the real workout and is woken from your phone if it isn't already running. Start a workout right from your iPhone — it opens HIIT on your watch so the countdown and haptics are ready on your wrist. Rejoin a workout in progress. If a device is closed or crashes mid-session, the start screen offers to drop you back into the live countdown. Your iPhone now shows live heart rate and active calories during a workout, plus an average-heart-rate and calorie summary at the finish. A new watch-face complication launches HIIT in a single tap. Custom session length and work/rest intervals now sync between your devices, so both start screens stay in step. Refreshed start and welcome screens, rounded typography throughout the watch app, and a new flame app icon.
