rides are consistently delayed by 40min-1hr, app is clunky and runs into issues. if there are multiple stops in a ride, the app lists them in an inefficient order that needlessly delays the drop off time for other passengers. at this point just take a redbus
So much potential
This idea has so much potential but the execution is lacking. I am a European and BlaBlaCar is a must have for traveling. I booked a trip with Hitch and was never communicated with that my driver was “sick” and couldn’t make the trip causing me to pay over $200 to get me to my destination. Unfortunately, after reading reviews this seems common and for a TRANSIT/Travel company this is unacceptable. At least let me know at the time you were made aware or offer other options.
On the driver side, I have had the app for over 3 months and have never seen an opportunity to drive. BlablaCar does it right, if you’re going in that direction you make your trip available for others to join. This seems like an uber system where you make far less - drive to a certain destination at preset times.
Overall this app both on the rider and driver side could be much better. I wish them the best!

Terrible service
My past 5 rides have been delayed by over an hour each. Tried contacting customer service and they even forgot to delete the Chat GPT prompt when responding to me. This is not the Hitch I remember from last year. Quality has dropped off insanely hard. Now they have changed my departure time from 7AM TO 1PM! without any consent or compensation. What is going on with this app? Can't wait for a competitor to come along and actually make this team have to work to provide a decent service.

Rides are being canceled at last minute.
Most un-user-friendly app for riders I’ve ever seen.
The driver details, eta information, or anything about the trip in general does not update in time and I have to talk to a bot to resolve and troubleshoot and am not able to get connected with a real person. Please review and improve.

Scam charges
I’ve been using hitch for two years now and honestly Hitch is filled with scam charges. They tell you the ride will cost $55 then charge you $60 only if there’s extra money in your account. Otherwise they’ll charge only the $55 you were originally quoted. I think that’s very dubious it’s $5 so a lot of folks might not pay attention but it happens and I’ve experienced both scenarios. And I think they need to do more research on the driving history of their drivers. The ones between Houston to Dallas speed excessively and are not careful drivers. I will say they at least show up for pick up early now thank 2years ago

Worst Experience
I have used Hitch for a long time, and this has been a consistent issue rather than a one-time experience. Drivers rarely arrive at the scheduled pickup time. In many cases, pickups are delayed by 1–2 hours because drivers are still completing previous trips, dropping off passengers at multiple locations far from the next pickup. This results in riders waiting for extended periods with little regard for their time.
Customer support has also been disappointing. The only explanation provided is that the driver is busy completing another trip, which does not address the underlying problem. If there are not enough drivers to meet scheduled pickup times, the platform should not continue accepting additional bookings

Long Way to go
This ride service is such a big inconvenience! Try to give it multiple chances. These drivers are always late 30–40 minutes past the estimated pick up times, customer service no phone number just chat message back-and-forth and This app is extremely slow and the prices are higher than it should be.

No support while you are on a ride
Yesterday, a driver named Tyrin picked us up from Houston towards Dallas. As soon as the car hit I-45, the car starting swerving at every little bump. Then he started talking to people with the phone in his hand. I immediately reported the unsafe ride on the support and there was not a single response. I just heard back after the whole night and when I responded, the chat has been closed and erased from the conversation history. Earlier, a hitch ride I had booked never appeared despite waiting two hours. This is the last time I used this obviously but wanted to warn people - this is not like Uber where there is some sort of support available during the ride. None. Zilch. Silence.

Yesterday accepted a ride from Austin to Houston with an offer of around $150, (ride door to door) and today after struggling with support the final payment shows just $45

Hitch policies are meant to engage driver even against safety. The ride took almost 7 hours AUS-HOU, according this policy driver is in the obligation to pick up a rider after midnight and drive back… if not, driver is going to collect just $45

Always late, arrival estimates wrong
Updating my review. It’s moderately easy to book, but drivers don’t always arrive on time and the drop off time is overly optimistic, so I never arrive on time. Worse, the app doesn’t allow refunds for terrible service like this and when you cancel one ride you have to drive yourself and cancel both, so you’re out $100 due to terrible service.
I don’t know who all these other five-star reviews are from but it’s not people who need scheduled transportation and on-time arrivals. Don’t use this for work. I’m deleting the app and finding a new solution.

Absolutely horrible l
This app absolutely sucks the customer support takes forever to respond. I had a driver that just decided to never show up I repeatedly tried contacting them just for them not to respond.

Worst App I've ever had! They stole your money without any ride/service!
Driver didn't show up at all. I called 23 times and sent 5 messages, got no response after 2 hours passed the scheduled time. The driver cancelled the trip and marked me as no show. Hitch charged me entire $133.99. Costumer service is just a joke, offered no help at all. Give me my money back!!!

Unsafe, unreliable, & unethical
Avoid this company at all costs! I’ve now had multiple instances where they set an unsafe pickup location in a dangerous part of town, only for the driver to delay pickup for hours. Sometimes well into the night. If you can cancel, they will not compensate instead you get penalised. Stay away from these frauds.

Good ride but..
I gave 4 stars because of the pickup location. On the app, I selected IAH Airport as my pickup point, but I was instead assigned a pickup location at Burger King (5596 North Fwy). I had to take an Uber to get there, and the Uber fare ended up costing about the same as the Hitch ride to College Station. It would be much better if the app could assign pickup locations that match the selected pickup point or at least choose a location that is genuinely nearby. Overall, the ride itself was good, but I hope this can be improved. Thank you.
