They said they are fixing the iOS bug
I’ve had this thermostat for four years. stopped working on iPhone with the new iOS in December when connected thru Wi-Fi. The company did get back to me and it works right now if you turn off Wi-Fi on your iPhone and they said they are software developers are working with Apple on a fix.
Does not work on iPhone
I have had this app for 5 years. It was clunky and unintuitive, but it worked. In December 2025 the app quit working on my iPhone. I have been unable to access my account both through the app and on the company website (building36.com).
Great app
This app does everything I need and more.
No longer working
Stopped working on iPhone either with recent app update or iOS update. Company has not responded to contact attempts for tech support.
App Will No Longer Open
We loved the app up until a week or two ago. All of a sudden, we can’t open the app on our phones (both my phone and my husband’s). The alarm.com app will no longer open either. I can’t even use this in the App Store to contact support. It just won’t open. Infuriating.
App log in issue
Hi since getting my iPhone 16, this app is not logging in. All of us with the 16 are not able to log in. We’ve never had this issue before
Not Intuitive at all
All I want to do is create a heating and cooling schedule like my old manual thermostat had. Select the day of the week, select the time, select the temperature. I could leave the thermostat alone all year knowing the temp would adjust for when I woke up, went to work, came home and went to bed.
I can’t figure out how to do this simple thing and I even work in IT!

Terrible app, is not loading and I am not sure what the issue is. I hate the app so much!

Try to figure out how to set a simple schedule for night morning day to set the thermostat . Impossible!
Failed Technology Innovation
These guys just proved why smart thermostats are a bad idea.
After 7 years with this app the heat and AC triggers are going off at the same time.
I can’t control your poor version control and testing.
You can obsolete the equipment at any time.
It’s not secure.
The initial cost is far lower than the upgrade replacement cost.
Further, it always takes less time to stand up and walk to the thermostat than to wait for the app to make a change.
I’ll be going back to the old way and advising others to do the same.

This app is so beautiful and so easy to use!
Worse over time
I’ve had this thermostat for three years, but in the last few months it’s progressively stopped connecting to my phone. Now it’s completely useless as a WiFi thermostat. First over the summer the schedule was claiming to be set up correctly on my phone, but randomly started shifting - the 8pm cooling at 3 in the afternoon, then no cooling at all overnight - totally off sync with the app. Now everything has to be manually controlled from the thermostat - no warming up the house before getting out of bed. Can they fix whatever bugs have gone into the system??

Horrible
Nothing about this app is easy or intuitive. If I’d known that the business I bought my HVAC from was going to saddle me with this albatross I wouldn’t have bought it.
Frustrating
The app rarely works the first time I change something. I waste several minutes reentering temps when I could just stand up and go to the thermostat to do it. Whoever the developer is needs to work on the handshake between the app and the thermostats so settings only need be entered once and the synch is seconds instead of minutes.
