Kinda works

This app is truly terrible, I haven’t given it one star because sometimes it works and it can be helpful. I love the product and what it does but the app needs a lot of work. Bugs galore, plus it crashes constantly. If you click a link within the app, it opens their website but then you’re stuck on that page and cannot go back to the app. Super frustrating… they really need to dedicate more time to this app and their customer service, which is very problematic. Not as bad as Verizon’s but still. LoL

Doesn’t take text entry

Disappoint in the very first interaction where the app can’t even take typing into the email address field.

Testing? We don’t need no stinkin testing!

Smells like incompetence at best or fraud at worst

The company is knee-deep in issues. For years they’ve been taking pre-orders for their Hoobs Pro box without delivering any product or issuing refunds. Support is non-existent, and the founder has some pretty shady history.
The app doesn’t work.

Works Great for me!!

Not sure about the issues others have—this works GREAT for me.

No longer can control or have access my HOOBS box.

Forget HOOBS Pro! This app is the beginning of the end. Did you even have an alpha stage? Hopefully reflashing my SD card will fix. I started having problems with my HOOBS devices that’s how I made this unfortunate discovery.

App is completely broken

This app is completely broken on both macOS and iOS. App Store staff should remove it from the store, as the company seems to no longer be in business.

Inconsistent

Will scan and show device, but won’t be able to connect. Meanwhile using the app on desktop works fine. Sometimes it works after a restart, but generally very unreliable.

Crash

I can’t open it. It just crashes right out the gate. Worthless is a word. I am giving too much credit by spending my time writing this review.

Doesn’t work

Hoobs stopped working a month ago. Website is useless, can’t reset password. Everything fails to send link and none of my devices are online. Seems like this are out of business and still selling. Definitely smells like a fraud.

Fix this now!

The scan never ends and doesn’t find my network. Now there is no way to access my account and check on bridges, download apps, etc.

Beware the V5

Updated from v4 to v5 broke literally everything. Reached out to support hours ago and haven’t heard anything back. All bridges and devices I had aren’t working anymore. Beyond disappointed in this product, will go to homebridge or smartthings.

Nur für Produkt Käufer

App lässt sich mit Docker oder derartigen Server nicht verbinden. Nur möglich beim Kauf von Produkten von Hoobs … sehr schade

Doesn’t Work

I using HOOBS Pro. Finally figured out how to log in, and eventually manually added my device. But after that, this app is beyond confusing. I think you need a computer science degree to understand anything. Things that I think should be self explanatory, aren’t doing what I’d expect. Zero idea how to get add ins to work and can’t find good information that I can understand online. I think I’ll just give up and not waste time with this.

Don’t bother

I have sat with my phone open for over an hour waiting for this app to find my devices with no progress ever made.

Zero Connections

Not 1 of my 73 connected network devices were found when doing a scan of the network or manually entering the devices IP address. No Ring, No Reolink, No Alexa, No Google & more were found by this app.

Useless

Does not find device even when entered manually

Never Finds my Server

After I log-in, it never finds my server on my local network.

Response from developer

Hi JohnHendrickson, We are looking into this issue. In order to go more in details, is it possible for you to open a support ticket on our website and referring to this response? It looks like iOS is limiting how many requests you can make to the local network, which is causing the scan to only be able to scan a certain range. Can you try manually connecting to the IP after clicking "Abort scan"? You can find your device's IP by looking in your router settings. Thank you

Won’t connect

Scans network for devices, but will never actually connects or does anything past that.

Nice Addition

Nice to see iPhone app version. Worked great at changing some configuration options while checking on smart items in house. Look forward to using it more.

Terribly disappointing

The app continuously tells me that I’m trying to access a device that I’m not authorized to do (my own device), and Hoobs support is absolutely maddeningly terrible.

Response from developer

Hi Pavel Gigov, We're releasing version 5.1.8, which should allow the few users that currently ran into migration problems from 4.x to 5.x to be able to properly connect to their HOOBS device. We highly recommend, as always, to generate a backup of your device before attempting any firmware update. Once you factory reset your device and try migrating again after 5.1.8 is available, everything should work as intended. Thank you
