Really good at giving bad info
It’s incredible what this thing can do. You ask the bot: “to go near me”. It gives you a wine bar, and 3 restaurants that are closed. Maybe it didn’t understand. “Takeout near me”. It gives back: a fancy restaurant that has no information of being takeout friendly on its own website, 2 more restaurants that are currently closed, and ONE! restaurant that actually does provide takeout. But maybe it thinks my expectations are too high - “cheap pick up food near me”. Now we’re talking. It sends back - an open pizzeria! And 3 more closed restaurants. I’m over it. Annoying, doesn’t provide good info, only good for the vibes and barely good at that.

Early days, but already my favorite app for tracking restaurants, cafes, venues et. al.
The developers have done an amazing job. It’s not often you join an app early on and are genuinely excited to see it progress and grow. The app is easy to use, reminds me to save spots I’ve been to, and the social aspect is looking promising. I have no complaints, well done team.

Makes making good choices, easy
Hotspot makes everything feel simpler. I trust my friends’ reviews of places and I can so easily see what they liked / what I would prob enjoy! Don’t have to text them or bother them when I can see their hotspots. The hotbot (their AI chatbot) is amazing. I’m excited for more people to use the app in SF so the answers get better.
