I've spent years booking hotels on American owned sites, knowing well that they move their profits off shore and put little or nothing back into European countries. So it's great to use a proper EU company for hotel booking
Bit of an underdog but outperforms
Hrs used to be the market leader and first mover, but rather than winner takes it all, it has slowly drifted downhill and became a somewhat provincial app. That is not quite justified as you can find great bargains for rooms, not only in Germany but also the usa etc…. If you can handle the clumsy interface

Keeps changing my date of birth to wrong day.
Terrible app
For some reason it keeps sending me notifications in German. I’ve no idea why and I see no way to switch this off so I have deleted the app.
