Generic GymMaster App Better

Login with the generic GymMaster app for full functionality with Apple Watch integration. Works with same username and password as the dedicated app but allows me to check-in with my Apple Watch instead of phone

HIRE A NEW APP DEVELOPER

My problem started when I deleted and reinstalled the app on the same phone. When I tried to log back in, the app told me I had “reached the maximum number of registered devices”, even though I was still using the exact same device. Apparently the system isn’t smart enough to recognize that it’s the same phone.

Because of that, I was completely locked out of the gym. There’s no way to reset the device limit yourself, and since the facility is unstaffed on the weekends (except for a few hours on Saturday), there was no one available to help me reset the limit until Monday.

Whoever built this app should understand how device identification works. If someone is using the same exact phone, the system should recognize that it’s the same device. Every phone has a unique device ID, so deleting and reinstalling the app shouldn’t count as a new device.

I understand limiting the number of devices to prevent people from sharing accounts and letting others into the gym. That makes sense. But locking someone out when they are clearly using the same phone is just bad design.

This feels like a very basic coding oversight. Something this simple shouldn’t prevent paying members from accessing the gym. For a system that controls entry to the building, the app should be much more reliable than this.

It’s extremely frustrating to be paying about $40 a month and not even be able to access the building because of a simple app issue.

My advice to the owners: stop cutting corners and hire a competent company to build and maintain your app.

Good ish

It’s a good app and I like the idea so people can just lend their cards to other people to scan in, but it’s extremely slow and could use some format updating, it’s a little basic.

My review

Very convenient and keeps track of everything neatly.

Nice!

I love how I don’t need to scan anymore! Just press the button when close by
