Better but not Perfect
Though this course was extremely helpful and beneficial to learning how to safely operate PWC and boats, I did have a few problems I was hoping to address.
Starting with the benefits of using this app, I enjoyed several different aspects. The ability to be able to complete the course on your phone instead of laptop and the ability to complete the course offline was very important for me. Second, I appreciated the interactive storyline and fun activities. Such as the mini quizzes and determining what to do when approaching another boat, a buoy, or overtaking another vehicle, along with the mystery and characters. The mystery of Kalkomoke Island was very good indeed, except for the fact that I had to redo all of the dialogue for almost 30 minutes because I guessed the wrong person at the end of the mystery. In addition, I got stuck doing the fire activity and it took me numerous tries over about a half hour to complete what should’ve taken less than 1 minute.
Also, there should’ve been activities regarding the knots and anchors to demonstrate how they worked. Seeing a diagram of how to tie a knot is much more difficult to understand than walking us through the process in an activity.
That being said, though a few improvements need to be made, I very much enjoyed completing this course. It was so much better the just doing a regular program. I hope you make more of these mysteries with certain things like a sailing program. Please consider this. Thanks!

I was taking a boating course online. They said I could pay to speed it up and now I’m getting redirected to this garbage condescending gamified app for tweens. It’s basically just a scam. I can’t even get back to the web site to just do the boating course.

Unachievable simulations
If you can’t pass their simulation of putting a fire out, because their technology does not work you waist all your time and are stuck of a fire extinguisher simulation.

I am 15, I got my license in about 4 hours. The test is a decent difficulty, but not too hard. I recommend go to the website, sign up and buy the course, then download the app! Thank you guys for helping me!!!

I can’t even log in
I paid for the course online thinking I would take it online. It forces you to download this app and I can’t even log in. I tried to use the boat ed login info and nothing. Pretty sure I just got scammed out of $75. This needs to be fixed asap
No issues, liked the learning style
Not sure why so many bad reviews. I had no issues with the app. I enjoyed the learning style with a “story”, following the friends and learning along with visuals and dialogue. Definitely a little hokey, but I’ll never forget the “circle of death”. I feel that the story made it easier for me to retain terms and information, rather than just reading a lot of information.

Demeaning to adults.
As if this boating safety isn’t already ridiculous for experienced adult boaters, this app is actually demeaning to the user base. Additionally, it’s buggy the page with the fire hydrant is truly ridiculous.
Can’t get started
I was trying to get this to work I tried dozens of times and I get through the first part and all it says is: you are sharp! Then it stays there forever and I can’t get to the next section.
Where is my card?
I completed everything and did the final test and it said I would be makes my boater card but it never arrived and I did this boating course during June of summer 2025. Where it at bru
The App Works When It Wants To
My login info is correct- I can login online but when I try to login in the app so I can actually start the course it says invalid login. Obviously I can login fine through the online website. So naturally I try resetting the password. Guess what? No user found🙄
404 page not found
Followed way too many steps trying to fix this. App couldn’t verify and send my completed courses to the site for final exam. Cleared cache and cookies. Switched to desktop mode. Tried multiple browsers. “The (stupid) mystery” shows “in progress” with zero direction on what you would need to do to complete it. Although it shows in progress I get the pop up stating I have completed all necessary steps in order to move on to the final exam. When the page loads it shows “404 page not found”. Tells you to contact them but does not provide a number or email to do so. If no response by Monday, I’ll move forward with calling my bank to get my money back.

TO THE PEOPLE SCARED THAT THEY MADE A BIG MISTAKE
I started this course on january 6th 2026. I went with this one because it said its shorter
I got to the “fire extinguisher level”
and completed it first try and had no issue whatsoever
So im not sure about the other reviews But it was easy and taught the rules and law about boating pretty easily so no complaints 5 stars

I finished the course but the website doesn’t give me my certificate
The fire is horrible
What a waste of money and time. I get it. Sweep at the base of the fire. Make the app work through all chapters on IOS. It only works on a desktop.
Terrible
They advertise as “no minimum time” and it’s because they overly gamify the entire thing with unneeded content and slow view transitions throughout the app. Absolutely the biggest waste of time and money, save yourself the trouble and go with a more traditional service. Also the final exam can’t even be done in the app, didn’t work for anyone in my group.

Lotta nonsense but easy
Like I said just blast thru all the questions if ya don’t know search the question and enter it just blast thru all the lame prompts - basically if ur card clears u get the certificate
