W game
Great
Half-Finished, Predictable, Abandonware
This game could've been a classic, unfortunately the devs gave up on it before they got there. Now we're stuck with the game which can still provide a fun challenge, but once you learn how to beat it in each scenario, that's it! There are no new surprises. You can keep using the same plan to take out as many worlds as you like. That said, the researcher speed is way out of balance and it is very difficult to outrun them in some of the harder modes. Similarly if you have the upper hand and research can't win the world simply gives up far too easily. Ports and borders are closed far too soon, chips and Plains stop moving, and this can leave you with a world that you probably could have obliterated, but now there's no transportation, so it somehow exist without any planes or ships traveling across the seas, but it's also not running out of people, either.
And the biggest annoyance is Greenland and Madagascar! These two countries almost never get a ship or a plane to them, even if you specifically design your infection to favor those places, it doesn't help much if the entire world population is dropping like flies, but those two countries are sitting happy with zero infections, simply because the game is designed so that they very infrequently get visitors. This is the glaring bug that was surely found early, just nobody bothered to fix it, which fits, because this hasn't been updated in years. Indeed, the only reason it did have an update recently was for compatibility with Apple Watch OS, and I think Apple did the update, which is even worse.
So, this is briefly fun to play through โonce, although the harder difficulties may infuriate you at the ridiculously fast speed of research as humans have, but after that, all it's good for is just taking out your frustrations on a innocent planet one afternoon when you're bored.
