Love the Convenience!
I really like the Kia Access app! I love being able to start my car right from my phone, especially on hot or cold days. It’s also great having access to other helpful features and information about my vehicle all in one app. Very convenient and easy to use! I highly recommend the Kia Access app to any Kia owner—it makes owning and managing your vehicle so much easier and more convenient!

Kia Access App
I thoroughly enjoy my Kia Access app for many different reasons. It’s wonderful in the summertime when I can start the car up remotely to cool it down and then the winter time when I can start my car up to heat it up. I can easily look at the app to see if I need to get gas or if I’m good and even make Service appointments. I highly recommend the app.

App will not work from my home
The app works everywhere but my home. I’ve tried two different WiFi connections. I’ve done the reset in the car. I’ve reconfigured the car and nothing works.
Price change/useless
I logged on one day to start my car and my app no longer worked. It’s useless if I can’t use all of the features. The car wasn’t bought brand new however what’s the point of having it and I can’t do anything with it.

Better than MyHyundai but….
It may look like MyHyundai, but Access works much much better and connects way more reliably. But it still is extremely limited in useful functions including no support for plug & charge or Apple Maps.
Reliable, convenient, one glitch
Lots of capabilities, such as turning on heat or air-conditioning and controlling charging schedules the one glitch is that the digital key is not always recognized and sometimes takes up to five minutes, sitting in the car, trying to get it to turn on… eventually it does.

Play like the app. At first, I had trouble with it, making my payments. After calling a Kia, I have made my last few payments on the app and have had any trouble.

First 3 oil changes are Free!! Great service and great prices for other things like tire rotation and come to find out many other services! People there couldn’t be kinder! Thanks Ken Ganley Kia!!
Removing old vehicles from Kia Access
I owned a 2022 EV6 which was totaled, and I no longer own it. It still comes up on my Access app as one of my vehicles. To remove it from my app, I have been instructed to collect and submit documentation to Kia indicating that it was totaled and I no longer own it. All that to have Kia simply remove it from my app, which may be a simple click of a button on their part.
With all the other problems I’ve had with Kia, from obtaining parts after purchasing a vehicle, to the lack of the ability of Kia’s techs to resolve glitches in electronic controls in my 2025 EV9, I have resolved never to own another.

Kia not up to this.
The profiles take too long to load on the car, and it blocks you from doing anything until the profile loads. It makes owning a Kia a serious headache. They needed to wait to rollout profiles until they were ready for real time use.

The latest update removed useful vehicle data and made trip statistics materially worse.
This isn’t just a preference for the old design. The previous app provided actual EV telemetry. For an individual trip it separately reported Driving, Climate, Electronics, Battery Care, and Regenerated energy, along with distance, duration, average speed, and an efficiency graph.
For example, one of my saved trips reported 20.68 kWh Driving, 1.29 kWh Climate, 0.53 kWh Electronics, and 4.60 kWh Regenerated. Nothing was ambiguous: energy consumption and recovered energy were separate quantities.
The old app also retained useful cumulative statistics. My previous data showed 5,094 miles, 1,656.96 kWh Driving, 65.25 kWh Climate, 40.25 kWh Electronics, and 262.50 kWh Regenerated. The monthly reports separately displayed distance, average speed, efficiency, driving time, energy consumption, regenerated energy, and climate energy.
The new app has replaced that information-rich presentation with dramatically less useful summaries. Worse, its trip efficiency figures now appear to credit regenerated energy in a way that makes them inconsistent with the efficiency displayed in the vehicle itself. I recently had highway trips where the vehicle was showing roughly 2.4–2.5 mi/kWh, while the new app’s trip figures work out to roughly 3.1 mi/kWh. A number that cannot be directly compared with the vehicle’s own efficiency display is considerably less useful.
More importantly, there was no need to choose between simplicity and data. Keep the simplified overview for users who want it and provide the detailed telemetry under a secondary screen. The previous app already demonstrated that Kia has access to this data.
I previously rated this app 3 stars. After this update, I am changing that to 1 star. This update did not merely redesign information I use—it removed it and changed the meaning of information that remains. Please restore the detailed trip and energy statistics.
